Well.....I'm having what will hopefully be my final colonoscopy tomorrow.  TMI??  After 76 yrs, I think the Doc's. just say...."What the hell....he's old enough" and won't schedule another one unless the colonoscopy Lorts gave me yesterday did some real damage.  Anyhoo....IF you would like me to post some pictures, just give me your vote.  Of course, Patty will have to help.smiley

Oh well....back to starving and drinking clear liquids.  I would kill for a Big Mac, and I don't even like 'em that much.

For those who have no sense of humor (you know who you are), this was meant to be humorous....hence the smiley faces....that's mean't to connote humor.smiley  Sigh.

Good luck Jim.  My doc stopped them 7 years ago. I don't miss not getting them😜. I did like the fentanyl they gave for the procedure. I'll pass on the pictures.

So here's another book recommendation from someone who read pretty much only required books in High School.  Title--"To Rescue the Constitution--George Washington and the Fragile American Experiment."  By Brett Baier.  I purchased it at Costco for $19.99.  Some really good American History.  God Bless those Women and Men for Our Freedom!!!  I question whether there are a majority of 30 and 40 year olds in our Country that would step up to save Our Country if they had to???        A quote from a Hessian Officer who fought with the British--from his diary--"With what soldiers in the world could be done by these men, who go about nearly naked and in the greatest privation?"  He went on to say our first Americans defeated the best soldiers in the world at that time.  Again God Bless Them, and Thank you God!!!

3,000 Car Dealers have signed a letter to the White House that says people aren't wanting to buy EV's and that it's killing their businesses.  The Car Manufacturers are making the Dealerships take the EV's and the EV's are just sitting there.  In case you weren't aware---Car Dealers pay "Flooring Cost" (financing interest) on every vehicle, every month to the Banks that hold their credit contracts.  How soon will Biden want to pay that interest for the Dealers so the EV's can sit?

I am beginning to consider buying an electric vehicle. I've been looking at some, and they are not that expensive. Some have places where you can put a few bags of groceries. I hope they have enough battery charge to get me to the corner store and back. laugh

Oil and gas producers have received a depletion tax break for decades. The rate is 15% for 2023. A perfect example of corporate welfare. Maybe we could eliminate the tax break for oil and gas and use that revenue to allow alternative fuel to reach critical mass.

Frank.  Re: your #11716.  This is yet another piece of information that is sounding the possible death knell for the EV industry.  BTW, just heard on FOX that it's 3,900 dealerships that sent letters to the White House....not 3,000.  Apparently, that's 25% of all (new) car dealers in the USA.

At the bank I worked for in the 70's & 80's, I used to manage the department that did flooring inspections of dealerships where we had lines of credit to finance their cars/inventory.  As you know, every time the dealership sold "a" car we had financed for them, they had to pay off a proportionate portion of their flooring line of credit.  I can tell you that "we" had to be detectives to conduct these inspections because many of the dealers sold cars and didn't tell "us" or pay "us" back unless we jerked their chain.  Not casting aspersions on every dealership, but they were purposely failing to pay on time and floated on money owed to their lender.

Now, the dealerships are in the opposite situation in that they cannot sell EV's that they expected to and are paying interest for those cars on their flooring lines.  That could, and probably WILL, lead to the democrats wanting We The People to pay the interest on the EV flooring lines as you so aptly postulated, thereby enabling the dealers to continue to exist and prosper while trying to sell vehicles that less and less people want.  Sounds to me like another bailout for the auto industry paid for by you and me.  The green new deal is circling the drain in oh-so-many ways.  BTW, where do I plug in my Tesla at my apartment complex?

You, or someone sent me an article that pointed out a VERY reasonable scenario for the future.  HOW will our electrical grid handle say 1,000,000 EV's charging every night when the outside temperature goes way down or up when the democrats, if they have their way, will convert US totally away from fossil fuels.  They want to ban gas stoves, gas water heaters, gas home heaters....all of which will be replaced by "units" run by electricity sucking off the electrical grid AND they will have killed oil companies so they can't produce the fuel we need to run OUR nation.  It's a self-fulfilling prophesy and a true Cluster-F**k in the making.  And we are sitting here watching it happen.  Too bad the orange velociraptor isn't in office.

Over here in Mexifornia, where the future is trotted out for the rest of the Americas in all it's "Glory" approximately a year or so from now, we have a bountiful harvest  of  brand new vehicles of all brands, shapes, and sizes which are unsold past years, that are supposedly available for rock bottom prices for us 'Seniors" because dagnabbit, the dealerships just cannot sell them.

Now why is this taking place, and if you don't believe it you can drive along the many Freeways and see them parked row upon row, covered with dust, upholstery cracking before your eyes, paint jobs fading, gathering dust until they can be sold or whatever ????

Perhaps they are  unused, unbought, unwanted, because of Economic Forces. Whadda ya think, is it the ever approaching  of the Ban of fossil fueled vehicles? Is it because they just are not made for the new "Green New Deal" all electric usage???? Is it because Californians are ultra Savvy, and are rearranging their thinking caps for the  new Mass Transit Exodus where living will be Hi Rise, and the maximum you will walk will be from the Subway to the Crib and vicee versa each day. Whatever, Californians are the new breed of animal, metrosexual, hip, suave, tattooed, and social beings with other social beings sans pronouns, after all who wants a vehicle that practically brands you as a Gender, how crude, uncouth, and unworthy.

Will Nature Allow It. Gonna have to find genderless fertility. Why did the Chicken cross the Road, To make Egg Production legal.

Michael K, as usual, you are right on the money. When Donald Trump becomes President again, he will finish the southern border wall. Then, he should continue the border north along the eastern borders of California, Oregon, and Washington until they decide to become part of the UNITED States again.

Frank and Jim-  I worked in the banking industry for about 18 years as an Internal Auditor.  As such, we tested a sample of flooring lines of credit, so I can confirm you are absolutely correct about that type of credit.

Lorts, your proposal to cut "corporate wellfare" to the oil and gas industries would likely cut assistance to low-income households, which is funded with this "corporate welfare" you speak of.  I doubt that you would be in favor of that.

"Corporate welfare" programs come in many different forms and from many different sources.  You should be concerned about whether these sources measure the effectiveness of the program and whether the intended outcomes of the program are actually generated.  Ypu will find that in many cases the intended outcomes are not even defined.

Cool video Patty!!  Just saw a Great Movie--Napoleon.  You want to see it on the "big screen"---IMAX is best.  I'm glad I wasn't a Foot Soldier back then!!

Patty.  Wow!  Great video!

I have said from the beginning that smart phones (with cameras) and social media are a couple of the first stages of of Armageddon.  They are significant ingredients in the fetid soup of lawlessness and the re-programming of America.  This is another reason I DO NOT venture into ANY social media.  This site is as close as I get.

I hope everything is OK with your son and your family, but I can understand your concern by simply watching TV.  The anti-Semite protests being "allowed" to continue are beyond the pale.  What the hell is happening to our country?

I mentioned Napoleon--Although there are some bloody scenes that involve Horses, there were no animals injured.  It was all done with Ai.  It's scary stuff and it's no wonder Elon Musk is warning us about it.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."  Edmund Burke

The war in Israel is back on because the TERRORISTS....HAMAS.... broke the truce.  HAMAS was playing a terrible psychological game with regard to the "hostage release/swap" and everyone knew it.  But, Israel had to make the effort and they managed to get some people back.  The fate of the ones who remain is unknown, but I think virtually anyone can take a guess.  Now Israel will face additional condemnation for defending their nation.

The screeching radical Islamists and the radical left in our country (democrats) will tune up and continue their "protesting" because Israel is hitting back.  The loudest voices come from people who have never been to war and have never fired a shot in anger.  Israel faces a tough challenge but they must eradicate HAMAS and ANY other terrorist group that threatens their lives.  It is war and war is brutal.

I pray for the remaining hostages and innocent people who will be harmed or killed as a result of this war started by HAMAS.  With me, this course of action being taken by Israel is not up for debate.  I am with Israel and against those on the other side.  AND......I am bitterly against the "people" protesting against Israel in our streets.  To hell with the First Amendment when the "speech" is fomenting violence.  I believe the democrats have used that argument here.....right??  I saw one protestor in Arab garb in NYC asked...."Can you tell me exactly where Palestine is located?"  The "protestor" had no answer because they do not really know what they are protesting.  DESPICABLE!

Santos has been kicked out of the House with a HEAVY vote to do so from the democrats.  Republicans were pretty divided.

I think Santos is a scumbag and that he should have NEVER been in the House.  BUT.....I am against kicking him out right now because he has not been convicted of breaking any law and I don't believe the House should override the vote of The People who put him there.  This is a bad precedent, even though the Constitution gives the House absolute right to determine their membership, as I understand it,  regardless of the will of The People.

To all this I might ask....Why hasn't Schiff, Swalwell or Menendez been kicked out?  Sure, I think pretty much all politicians lie, but seems like a bit of double standards here.

Enjoy watching our government in action.

Jim. Your quote is correct. It seems that too many good men are doing nothing. Only a few good men are trying to do something, but their words are being silenced. Israel is a peaceful nation. They only fight to defend themselves. Hamas invaded Israel, butchering and raping innocent people, including children, and taking hostages. To agree to the cease-fire is unusual for Israel in these circumstances, but now they have had enough. Israel needs to eliminate all the evil in their land.

Dennis Moran

After retiring in 2010 I have amazed myself.  I spent 31 years using just about all the men rooms that were available for use.  I have lived through 15 minute breaks that I would of liked to be longer.  I worked in areas where women didn't work. I passed tests to handle explosives and received certification by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. and all that by being a non smoker and non drinker. And yes I still have all my fingers and toes ;plus and minus other things.. I saw things that went in the deepness of space and the deepest points in the oceans. I rode on aircraft that made me appreaciate buses and trains.  I picked up items that charles atlas would take credit for.  I have used tools that floated objects off the ground. The company had changed its names so many times that they sell pen and pencil sets with their logos on ebay....yes I collect them.  I have experienced many types of people who would be prohibibeted from owning animals.  I have learned how to lie and cheat from experts...no not interested in running for office...their lies cost people their lives.  I have met some of the best people a guy could of ever wanted to meet. I have had people take bites out of my sandwitch and had thumbtacks put on the seat of my chair....my butt would say damm but not my lips.  can't give pleasure to some of the lowest forms of life to work with.

High school and college didn't prepair me for the real world... grade school taught me pleasure wasn't going to happen and the military showed me with rank comes stupidity.

Being retired means I have no interest in working anywhere and lazy is a reward.  I do get the largest amount of spam known to man.  I have learned that the turm BITE ME says more than just 6 letters.

I have experienced the know it alls far too many times.. its amazing to hear them, not interested in seeing them.

I am blessed with knowing the bathroom is closer than I thought. and toilet paper is almost as good as a coke and candy bar.  Gold is pretty but toilet paper is universal...well except the Phillippines where i had to reach in a bucket of sand and cold water.  as well as having a tolet seat means more that not having one.

I am growing wiser and still shave... no beard or mustace for me...for all those out their that have mustaches the best one I saw was on a NUN who worked with Sister Francesca.  And yes the nuns have babies even tho no little boy or girl will introduce the nun as mom.

And as my grandkids and I say 'Don't let the bed bugs, bite"

Dennis.

Hi Dennis,  I once said Bob Newhart hat a "button down mind" and you have a "tab collar mind"!  I mean that as a Compliment!!  N.S.--I repeat--Please read, "To Rescue the Constitution"  by Brett Baier.  I was reading this book and I realized a GIANT benefit of reading.  There are no damn commercials!!

There have been classmates who have mentioned that they fear Trump will be "Autocratic".  The reason I have brought this up is  because the new car lots are loaded with a surplus of EV's that they can't sell and those EV's wouldn't be sitting there if the Biden administration hadn't "Autocratically" demanded that the U.S. Car Manufacturers build, and then force the Dealers to take those vehicles even though there is LITTLE DEMAND for them.  It's kind of like Hitler telling the Germans, "You will buy Volkswagens!"
