If you're looking for something to do and you like Movies go see "The Holdovers".  They advertise it as a comedy, and there are a couple funny scenes.  I would label it a dark comedy--but a good movie.  It takes place at Christmas time 1970.  Another good watch if you have FOX Nation is, "The Sons of Liberty--The Tea Party"'   Liberals--it's about the original Tea Party in 1773 so your hair won't ignite.  Really good synopses of the events before, during, and after.

This diet is supposed to help you shed at least one pound a day. I am a good Lab Dummy, for there is lotsa of room for Contraction.

Mike Kelly, what's the pre 64 worth? I bought mine in 8th grade with paper route money. I reconditions a few years ago with Zeiss variable scope and had it professionally reblued. I refinish the stock. It's a beauty and not for sale. It's the only rife I have hunted big game with;  elk , deer, Havelina and coyotes. Mine is a feather weight, model 70, 270 Winchester, for the record. I have about 13 other rifles, inherited from my dad but never use them.

Bill Rihs  I don't know  how your Pre 64 would estimate at nowadays, but Cabela's and other Gunshops would have a good handle on the estimate based upon the condition your Win. Bolt Model 70 would be Graded. My understainding is that the Pre 64 is rated as excellent because of the Action, and the Grade of Steel used in its manufacture. They are treasured.  The last I checked they were worth over 4000 because of being manufactured Pre 64. I would like to have one in the caliber yours is in, because the 270 Winchester Magnum seems to be the ideal velocity for a wide variety of Game, and people assert that the recoil is conducive to making them easier on accuracy due to less recoil as compared to a 30-06. I occasionally prowl the Internet for Gun Deals because I have always valued a good Rifle. Actually the first large caliber Rifle was the M-14 that we used in Army Basic Training. It was chambered in 7.62 x 54 mm NATO, which is the same as the .308 caliber Winchester. They are  interchangeable. The 308 is a 30-06 casing cut down to a shorter size, same caliber .30 as the larger case. The ballistics are virtually identical but less recoil. I like your choice in Scopes.  

I would think that Mike Wetzel probably has some information to share on this subject matter. He has more hunting experience than I do and hunts for the Coues deer which are very difficult to hunt as they seem to be very cautious and are mostly in fairly open land foliage wise, but very rocky and ideal for their size. I know the ballistics on the 270 is very flat shooting out to 300 yards.

Thanks Mike Kelly. I love my 270. My dad and I used to reload 130 and 150 grain. I used 110 for hunting coyotes. 130 and 150 for deer. Only used 150 for elk. Coos deer are indeed hard to get. I hunted them a couple of time in south Arizona, no luck. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Take care!

We walked into Safeway (North, North Scottsdale on Scottsdale Rd. near Carefree Hwy.) yesterday afternoon and saw 4, sleazy looking white kids....teenagers....headed to the door with groceries that I suspect were not paid for.  There were 3 boys (one extremely obese), one tall skinny kid festooned with tattoos, a non-descript girl and additional non-descript boy.  The groceries were NOT in Safeway bags and they were nowhere near the checkout lanes.  

I travel armed now and "the thought flashed" through my mind, but common sense prevailed.  I reported it to the manager (we know her) and I got the common answer we see on TV every day.  "They are prevented from intervening and cannot even follow them out to get their license plate number" under penalty of termination."

Our country is in enormous trouble and we will NOT turn it around under the current administration, both local, state and national.  We The People will not be safe until it once again becomes ILLEGAL TO BREAK THE LAW and the law is enforced.

ILLEGAL border crossings, drugs, anti-Semitism run rampant and so on, ad infinitum.  Where are the left wing democrats screaming for law and order and protection? Hypocrites!  Disgraceful!

I DO NOT care if "you" do not like Trump, but he did something to protect the United States.  I'm sorry if you are so sensitive that you can't stand his demeanor, but he was....and is....the hard-ass we need on That Wall.  Looks like he'll get the nomination and I WILL vote for him.

SECURE THE BORDER!!  ENFORCE THE LAW!!  AMERICA FIRST!!

Jim- I think to you and I and some others on this forum, it is pretty clear that it should be ILLEGAL and have ENFORCEABLE PENALTIES to break the law.  Much to our collective chagrin, and as I have observed and said before, the Left seems to place little value on common sense or truth.  The Left will use phrases like "defund or re-direct the police budget", or they're "victims" of homelessnes and have a "right" to take it if they need it.

Im into Thanksgiving.  replaced my computer and hope its more intelligent than the prior one.  Mike L.  it was great knowing you in parochial school hell and seem to have made it out ok... I still have a fear of women wearing black. You are a fantastic group of guys and girls; many times I agree with you and think ...hey thats what i feel. My future inputs will be said while im watching what you all have said; but, don't think I will share it. Being perfect has been a chore for me. Its not like the good old days when I was able to walk on water.

Hey I was lucky I was and always will be a Spartan...before our class camelback football was 0-7-2 yep we sucked but luckily Don Baker appeared.   I still think back to the Westwood game and know we really won the game....We will always be STATE CHAMPIONS 1964.  Thanks to Bob Phillips, Ron Hendrix, Dave Grandguaard and  so many other guys who made me feel like I was worthy...I was last string but always felt like I was first string. many a time I still have scars from those days. Lorts by his writing exhibits how immature he is. I can't approve of Drivel like that even if said in some kind of "Sick Jest" It was ridiculous.

You can complain of 'Inflation" and say it comes from "who knows where' but we  all know when people are allowed to publicly Loot a Store and get a way with it it only costs the rest of us more out of our pocked book because the Store is not yet a Socialist State Owned institution where losses are openly sustained by the over taxed Citizen. 

I don't and won't ever think that Joe Biden is anywhere near Presidential Material, and every new day proves it, and the laxity of his sorry administration has 'Trickled Down" to street level, and that Aint Wealth, Folks, that is Poverty and its coming to all of us unless we restore Law and Order.

Well.....I'm having what will hopefully be my final colonoscopy tomorrow.  TMI??  After 76 yrs, I think the Doc's. just say...."What the hell....he's old enough" and won't schedule another one unless the colonoscopy Lorts gave me yesterday did some real damage.  Anyhoo....IF you would like me to post some pictures, just give me your vote.  Of course, Patty will have to help.

Oh well....back to starving and drinking clear liquids.  I would kill for a Big Mac, and I don't even like 'em that much.

For those who have no sense of humor (you know who you are), this was meant to be humorous....hence the smiley faces....that's mean't to connote humor.  Sigh.
