So I have a question about the "Free Market" and Government intervention?  I guess that The Feds and many State and local Authorities outlawing Tik Tok on their phones and computers is objectionable to Liberals?  Secondly, yesterday the Lyin Biden administration announced that inclusion would be a requirement of Chip Manufacturers getting money from the "Chips Bill",  meaning that they will have hiring quotas of minorities, gay, transgender, and women.  In addition the Chip Manufacturers have to be Union Shops.  (More "Free Market" I guess) I don't remember this being part of the Bill that was passed?  Article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday.

Interesting thing happened yesterday.  My Wife and I drove to Arizona yesterday from Colorado.  Her new Subaru has all the bells and whistles including lane departure, automatic braking, etc..  All of those functions were automatically shut down because we were in a snow storm.  I wonder what will happen when we have driverless vehicles in snowstorms?

My understanding is that TikTok is banned from the phones of government employees. Personally, I think cell phones should be banned from every workplace, unless those phones are essential to the job, because they're a distraction and negatively effect productivity. Quotas have been required for companies doing business with governments for decades. I hope the day comes when quotas are no longer needed.

To all of those who served in Vietnam, I do thank you for your service. I did not set foot in that war. The Coast Guard did have a presence there under the department of the navy. I tried to transfer to a ship going there, but my request was denied. My ship did serve a support role in monitoring aircraft taking personnel and equipment. I say this in response to a statement pointing to President Johnson being the one escalating the war beyond that of President Truman, Eisenhower, and Kennedy's policies. Those policies, going back to Truman, were to send only observers, advisors, trainers, and equipment there. Under pressure from congress and the military department, Kenedy stepped up the supplies and sent combatants only to guard our military facilities. By the time of Kennedy's assassination, The situation had degraded to the point that Johnson yielded to the pressure and sent military groups in to fight the war. This is just a short synopsis. I will post a link to a Documentary on the history of Vietnam's struggles and our first involvement in that war.

Would it surprise you to know that Vietnam was divided into three different factions? North Central and South Vietnam, and that we first supported Ho Chi Mihn in trying to reunite Vietnam?

Michael K.,

Excellent choice in a great weapon...The only thing I know regarding horses, is that they bite like hell, and kick even harder. Of which, I have suffered several times. But they sure are beautiful animals..........

Michael W. Horses if handled properly will not bite, or kick, and if they do the habit is easily changed. Experienced horseshoers who encounter horses that have a propensity to turn around and bite the shoer in the butt when he's bent over shoeing or trimming a hind leg, will take a thin piece of plywood and nail some small nails through it, and put a handle on the end of it and place it in their hip pocket so that when the horse goes to bite, it gets a snot locker with about a dozen prickly jabs and horses are not stupid (i once thought so) and they will stop the habit. A horse that bites is what invokes the 3 second Rule, espoused by experienced horsepersons everywhere. The 3 second Rule is that you immediately yell as loudly as you can, get an extremely nasty look on your Face, and smack that horse in the side of the neck so that the horse runs away. Usually young Colts that have not been Gelded yet, will often attempt to bite, and kick Same 3 second Rule, a horse that kicks is very dangerous and you must scare the horse out of doing it. My horse Rocky used to turn around and bite at my left foot when I placed it in the Stirrup when mounting up, but I quickly learned from an experienced Horseman that the cause was my Cinching up Rocky too tight and in a place that pinched him. I moved back the Cinch about 2 inches from his front leg and the pinching stopped. If you are interested in really learning about Horses, A through Triple ZZZ you can get Books and Video's on Riding and Training yourself and your horse from John Lyons, who has retired now, but attended Camelback HS and graduated in 66. He became known as America's Most Reliable Horseman, and conducted Clinics nationwide, and in Foreign Countries, for over 20 years. John Lyon's was a very good Football Player, and he acquired an Appaloosa Stallion called Bright Zip which he campaigned with in his Clinics. Another very good Horseman is Brian Neubert, who became a Clinician to supplement his income while working as a Top Buckaroo for the Spanish Ranches, in Nevada. The Spanish Ranches own or lease over a Million Acres in Nevada and Brian used to take a Round pen to the Wild Horse Auctions in various places in the USA, and would sell his Training of a Wild Horse for 350 Dollars, and would deliver to the owner after 2 hours or so, a completely tamed and saddled up ready to safely Ride Mustang that had never been ridden before. He made a Training Video of his method while actually doing what he promises, called Wild Horse Handling, of which I have ordered several copies. You can order a Copy yourself at EclecticHorseman.com online. Last I checked it was 80 bucks but if your interested in Horses, its worth every Cent. Chris Cox, of Texas is also one of the top Clinicians and an extremely knowledgeable Trainer of both Horse, and especially Novice Riders.

Frank, I have a car similar to your wife's but mine is a Toyota.  Last year Buzz and I drove to Mexico where he left me and drove back to Montana, through Arizona.  After leaving Arizona he got into a heavy, slushy snow storm and everything automatic shut down.  The sensors get impacted with frozen slush and stop with no warning.  I have never had it happen to me and I drive in snow and slush all the time.  Moral of the story, find out where the sensors are on a warm day so that you can find them in a snow storm.

Mike L, I think Jim's post was directed at you because you don't align with much of anything he says or for that matter what I or Frank says. Both Frank and I know where he is coming from. His honesty and integrity about his convictions are just what this country needs, especially at a time when our government leadership and the liberal mindset are having such a negative impact on our security as a nation. Your lack of concern about what Biden and his team (I include Obama) are doing to this country scares the hell out of me. And I don't need that again rehash all the negative issues we face today.

Greg,

You may consider coming down from your high horse righteousness and realize that the other side(liberals) love this country just as much as your side. I acknowledge and respect all of the conservatives, in particular Jim, that are on this forum even if I disagree with their policies.

Because of the current Hullabalooo over the Student Loans, and whether the President can merely wipe the slate Clean and wipe out all indebtedness which Student Loans represent, both the president and others are wrapped up in hand-wringing over whether they will have to actually pay them back, an Answer already exists but is probably not palatable to the people who borrowed huge amounts of money to attend college/university. The relief is in Bankruptcy. The Federal Legislature made it more difficult to Discharge Student Loan Debt, because now the Debtor has to show that the repayment of the Loan will cause "Undue Hardship". The Legislature passed a Bill called the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention etc. Act in year 2005, a year in which the Democrats held Majority's in the House, and possibly the Senate, since Obama was our President in 2005. Now, the catering to the higher education Mills has come full circle so as is typically the case, the Democrats blame someone, anyone else other than themselves and now try the Executive order route via biden to avoid the legislation they passed in 2005. The SCOTUS has not decided the case yet, but the decision is due to come down any day now. I paid my Tuition and Book fees with trading 3 years of my life in the US Army for which I received the GI Bill, and by working full time at the Pacific Bell Telephone Company and attending summer sessions to make up for the 3 hours I missed in the Winter and Spring Sessions. I am surprised that no one seems to do any kind of research to find out if a remedy already exists for problems such as this, so i took the liberty of looking it up to see if a Remedy exists. It does. The Bankruptcy Court will probably want to see a five year effort to payoff the Loan(s) before granting Relief from further payments.

Mike Kelly.  Unbelievable!  A remedy right under our nose and nobody talks about it.  Apparently Republicans are not "up on the law"....how embarassing, and Democrats won't mention it because it doesn't fit their socialist agenda.  In banking we called people who didn't pay their debts deadbeats.  Of course, that was when you could call a spade a spade....Am I allowed to say that??  I'm back to "Who's the Liar?"  Thanks for enlightening us.

I heard this said recently:  "You can't rationalize facts to someone whose position is based on emotion."  Democrats whole "reason for living" is based on and fired by emotion.  Does the name Randi Weingarten come to mind?  I thought she was going to have a stroke when she was "lobbying" for student loan debt forgiveness the other day.  I could see the spittle spraying out of her mouth.  If ever there was justification for an "Individual Mask Mandate."

Mike Lorts.  Nice post...almost calming.  But I'm curious.  Which "policy of mine" do you object to?  Me being against:

1.  Open borders and every horrible result that accompanies that malignant situation?

2.  Rampant Unchecked Crime?

3.  Inflation and costs ruining families and small businesses?

4.  China coming for America's throat?

5.  A stratospheric deficit that can NEVER be whittled down?

6.  Ukraine and that insane Russian despot who is killing women and children?

I can name more, but I'm wondering which of "my policies" stated above...that I have clearly laid out my opinion for each one... that you disagree with, Mike?

Its time to say what are you doing Arizona colleges and universities.

Im not sure what current students pay to live in the dorms but im quite sure the semester rental they pay far exceeded anything I paid.  When I went to NAU the dorm i lived in was as i remember a little over $ 200 for the semester...the dorm was and still is Sechrist i moved into it the 2nd year...it started as a dorm in 1967-68...i started living their in 1968-69.and after over 40 years the school charges more money....very little repairs have been made to any of the dorms...i remember we paid dorm damage fees that money was never used on the dorm( i asked and was told if i didnt like it i could leave....thats why i have so little respect for the board of regents...just political paybacks)

Does the Universities depreciate buildiings...probably not...they are gold mines...and dorm damage fees that money goes into a general fund...of which the Enspere ...NAU sports building received funds..At NAU it was also called J.Larence Walcup last errection.

What else is listed as an asset that continues to gain value....not the land...that was given to them.

Is the value of what we call an education correct.....What is the true amount a student with debt should really be charged and asked for payment.

Im glad to see our friends speak of what is going on in the wonderful world.

Me....still in favor of the tools being sent to Afgandistand maybe after a couple more dollars i will be able to spell it.

Me...run for office for one time...I guess I dont trust them to be their longer than what they ran for.

Me ... reading the Spare......I will let you know more....I have found it interesting

Lets see Prince andrew entertained underage females, Prince William has a mistress, and please tell me if im wrong The King has a mistress....I do miss the Queen.

Our Military academies seem to reqire pervert being checked when applying.....i feel sorry for the women attending.

Girls sports must include room for a former guy who is now a current lady...must be an interstung shower room....soap droppers must have a field day and olymipics doctors can do what they want....we are definitly screwed up.

Good nite.....and please share your views thats a big reason for the Message Forum.

Correction-- -Bush, the younger was President in 2005 but he had a Democrat Congress.  Maybe I'm crazy but the Worm may be turning.  The U.S. Congress yesterday voted to not let D.C. Politicians led by Murial Bowser get rid of minimum sentences and other pro-criminal policies and numerous Democrats voted for the pro-law enforcement measures.  In addition Lori "Lightweight" lightfoot is gone in Chicago.

Jim Coats

I'm NOT making fun of her, but does anyone else think Lori Lightfoot looks like Beetlejuice?  Anyone?  Yes....No?

Remember her song in the studio where she put on shades and started with...."C'mon, C'mon"?  I'd like to change those first two lyrics to...."Begone, Begone..."  And follow it up with ...."Don't let the door hit you in the butt...".  I wish I could accompany my lyrics with her "chooglin" music.  That would be cool.  Then, I'd finish my song.  Thank you Chicago.  There has been a disturbance in the Force....in a good way.

I don't care that Lori Lightfoot was black. I don't care that she is a woman. What I care about is that she let crime run free in her city, resulting in the death of so many innocent people. I call her 'Lightbrain. I know that Hannity and others like to call her lightweight. But, although she was small in stature, she knew how to throw what little weight she had around. I don't live in Chicago, but I hope they elect a new mayor who will support the police, fire the police chief, and put in one that will enforce the law.

Mike L, If you say I'm on my high horse for stating my opinion, then so be it. By now it should be no surprise to you that those of us who have a conservative slant to our views would disagree with much of your liberal views. However, I will always give you credit for standing up and being the loan person on this site today who continues to speak your liberal views. You must be able to take it because you keep coming back on a daily basis.

Jim,

In your post #9477 you list six problems ,  but not one policy. I agree that all six are problems but, how they are corrected will require policies.

03/03/23 10:09 AM #9353

Mike Lorts

Greg,

What I meant was you insinuate that only conservatives love this country and liberals hate this country.

03/03/23 10:37 AM #9354

Jim Coats

Lorts.  Oh....so you DO believe those 6 items ARE problems....with, and perpetuated by, the Biden administration.  There's something odd.  Agreeing with a conservative.  I'm not going down this road again with you.  I'm a civilian, not the President or a member of his Star Chamber.  Read my #9460 for more details.  Here's my policy suggestion for the Biden Administration.  Get off your ass and get this crap fixed!  What is wrong with you, Mike??  Robert Gates (Defense Secretary under Obama) doubled down in Oct. '21 that Biden has been wrong on top foreign policy and national security issues for decades.  He also said Biden made a mistake in the way he bailed out on Afghanistan.  No sh*t, Sherlock!  Yep.  I agree with that Democrat.  Biden is incompetent and he is killing....KILLING our country.  And you want to argue about who loves and who hates America the most....or Tik Tok....or banning cell phones from the workplace.  Screw the border, right?

SECURE THE BORDER!!  THERE'S A POLICY FOR YOU.  SECURE THE F**KING BORDER.  LET'S START WITH THAT, SHALL WE?

So biden finally did something right, he actually refused to support the new "DC Soft on Crime Act" and now the Democrats actually have a close to Real Debate going on, as sick as it may be. Well, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Just for you "Soft on Crime Advocates" who believe that you can always Trust in the Kindness of Strangers and your just sure you have your own "Angel" This for you! You can get as Soft on Crime as you personally want to indulge yourself, as for Me, I will always have the Second Amendment, and by God I will Use It if needs be! Even Darwin believed in the Second Amendment, because he expoused the Survival of the Fittest.

As for the SECURE THE BORDER ADVOCATES. it looks like now WE MUST GEAR UP FOR SECURE THE VOTE FOR AMERICAN CITIZENS ONLY, WITH PICTURE ID'S ONLY.

Yes, Frank W. Bush the Younger was President in 2005, corrections always Welcome.

The birds in my backyard must be socialist. The base on my bird feeder is too small for most of the larger birds so the smaller socialist birds toss the seeds down to the larger birds.

I'm not going to divulge my address for fear that Mike W will bring his guns to bring down the socialist birds.
