Lorts.  Oh, no!!  You mean that some on the right said something mean about some on the left.  I'm going to paint you a vivid word picture right now:  Imagine me, 6'3", 1/8 of a ton clutching my pearls.

Mike Lorts

Jim,

Do just a little research to find that Rusty Bowers is a life long Republican. I know you didn't watch the Jan 6 hearings but you may want to look at his testimony.

01/07/23 03:19 PM #8796

Jim Coats

Lorts.  You're right.  I didn't know Bowers is/was a Republican.  I don't care.  What I am certain of is that the 1/6 hearings will NOT secure the border; cut inflation; cut crime; reduce the deficit; stop rampant spending; stop programming our school kids; bring back our energy independence.........and so on.... that the Biden Administration has infected the country with.

Having been in Mexico the last three weeks, without the internet, I'm not sure if you guys are playing nice without my overseeing the website.  I'm baaack....

We had an interesting experience for you Marines while in an elevator on the ship.  A lady looked at Buzz's 1/9, Walking Dead hat and started to shake and then cry.  I headed us all out of the elevator and her husband was befuddled until he realized what she was saying.  He was one of the commanding 1/9 officers in Vietnam.  Buzz did not know him then as Buzz was in the jungle near Laos but had met him at a reunion many years later.  We spent every evening with them, it was very enlightening, sometimes I didn't know who was the leader and who was the psychologist.  I think they both got a lot out of these very emotional meetings.

Patty, thanks for sharing the events with Buzz and the other Marine via 1-9. I am sure it was good for both of them even though I have no idea what they experienced. I have heard enough stories to at least empathize. Are you adjusting to the weather change? Oh! By the way we have been playing nice together😁😇

Sunday Funnies--1. Remember when we would go to the State Fair and line up to pay to see the Tattooed Fat Lady?  Now they're everywhere.  2. I've learned that if people want to "get back on their feet", first they have to get off their asses!  3. Americans lost their way when suits and signatures replaced Levi's and handshakes.  4. Why do eggs come in flimsy styrofoam containers and batteries come in packages you need a chainsaw to open?  5. Years ago Coca-Cola contained 3.5 grams of Cocaine.  It's no wonder our Parents could walk to and from school, uphill both ways, in the snow, barefoot.  6. As the Kardashians celebrate their 20 Season, I am congratulating myself for never watching One episode.  High Patty, welcome back!  Did you get a chance to see any Pyramids in Mexico?  Give my regards to Buzz.  Semper Fi!!

There are a lot of good comments about the week-long voting for the speaker. I admit I was upset with the way things were going. There were many things about selecting a speaker that I didn't know. Some have been pointed out here, and others I found in my own research. For example, I didn't realize that members voting 'present' could lower the threshold from 218 to elect a speaker. This has been an educational week for me. What we saw this last week is democracy in action. We saw Republicans that could disagree with each other and work things out. While on the other side, we saw Democrats playing follow the leader and, as I pointed out before, like sheep following the scapegoat into the slaughterhouse like they didn't have minds of their own. I'm glad it's over now, and we can get on with the people's business. McCarthy knows what is expected of him, and I believe he will deliver.

And now for some SERIOUS stuff:

You don’t need a parachute to go skydiving. You need a parachute to go skydiving twice.

A computer once beat me at chess. But it was no match for me at kickboxing.

The teacher called Little Timmy to her desk. She said: “This essay you’ve written about your pet dog is exactly the same essay your brother has written.” “Of course it is,” said Timmy. “It’s the same dog.”

An organization is like a tree full of monkeys, all on different limbs at different levels. The monkeys on top look down and see a tree full of smiling faces. The monkeys on the bottom look up and see nothing but a**holes.

Friends.  Please be careful.  I went to a Christmas party and had a few beers followed by a few cocktails followed by a few shots.  I still had the sense to know that I was over the limit.  That's when I decided to do what I had never done before.  I took a cab home.

Sure enough, there was a police sobriety checkpoint on the way home, but since it was a cab, they waived it past.  I arrived home safely without incident.

This was both a great relief and a surprise because I had never driven a cab before.  I don't even know where I got it and now that it's in my garage, I don't know what to do with it.

The other day my son asked if a punch bowl is where you keep the names of people you want to punch.  I usually keep them in my head, but seeing them in decorative crystal seems really classy.

What do you call a Christmas wreath made of $100 bills??  Aretha Franklins.

And finally.....If a cookie falls on the floor and you pick it up....that's a squat, right?

You guys all make me laugh. Refreshing since we never get any humor from the Libs. Their attempt at humor is always condescending sarcasm. I love the cab story. And Patty, your story about Buzz's encounter with a Viet Nam comrade is special.

Great funnies guys! Keep them coming!

How about that.  President Gilligan....excuse me....I meant President Biden took a "3-hour cruise" to the border AFTER all the streets in El Paso were swept clean of all those future Democrats who were living there.  I'm sure there will be some strong new policies after they repair the gaping hole in the S.S. Minnow....sorry....I meant the Biden administration.  Soooo, "Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale....A tale of a fateful trip, that started at this border town, Aboard this leaky ship...of state that is".

Have a swell day.

AMERICA FIRST!!  SECURE THE BORDER!!  AND, BY THE WAY....TERM LIMITS!!

Greg,

Is Jim's latest post an example of conservative humor? It kind of looks like condescending sarcasm.

I hate it when I mean to buy seedless grapes but instead I accidentally get....well....you know....Oreos.

Mike L. Is it condescending sarcasm If it's true? I enjoy Jim's humor.

1. One of the biggest mysteries of life is why Kamikaze pilots wore helmets.  2. The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has limits.  3. Frank. I know that your #5 was a joke, but I like to respond to abortionists this way.

IF YOU THINK ABORTION IS SUCH A GREAT THING, WHY DIDN'T YOUR MOTHER HAVE ONE?

Frank W. Answer to #1 in your #8941 "To brend in" You must have missed some Episodes of McHale's Navy. DIFF SUBJ. An ambitious young southwestern Politician went all over his State drumming up support for the Office he wanted. At an Indian Reservation he stopped and asked the Chief if he could give a Speech. The Chief said Yes, in the cow pasture just North of Tribal Headquarters. The young politician arrived at noon, giving his speech to the locals who would listen to him and shout "Hoya, Hoya" and after finishing he and the Chief went back to his Limo. The young politician asked the Chief what were they saying when they shouted out "Hoya, Hoya" The Chief said that it was how his people felt about the Speech. As the Chief opened the door of the Limo for him and as the young politician went to step in the door the Chief stopped him in mid-step, pointed to a steaming mound of Cowflop lying on the ground right where the young politician was about to step and said "Young politician dont step in the Hoya!"

Well Mike L, I think that post was funny because he compared Biden's trip to the border as really comical. He sent his troops in to clean up the migrant tents and trash in El Paso before he arrived to shake hands with our BP. He never went to any area where the illegals are walking across the Rio Grande. It continues to be a world wide embarrassment. Biden needs to go back to Delaware forever. I continue to believe Mike, that you believe our border is doing just fine. Biden and his administration have done nothing to stem the flow and to me that's criminal treason.

I refer you to the definition of Hypocrisy.

Breaking News--Classified Documents have been found at "The Biden Center" that had to be placed there by Lyin Biden.  It is reported that the documents go back to the Obama-Biden administration.  I just watched a replay of an interview Lyin Biden did last September on 60 Minutes with Scott Pelly in which he was ripping Trump for Mara Lago.  It's also reported that Merrick Garland is investigating.  Let's see, it's been over two years that the FBI has been investigating Hunter with no result.  I wonder how long this investigation will take?

01/09/23 05:56 PM #8817

If Biden violated any laws by having classified documents in his Chicago office he must be held accountable.

Biden's trip to El Paso was one cut above Kamala's, no where near the reality of the disaster he has caused. In case you thought there is a chance for the few moderates in the Crat party to influence the democrates taking a middle left approach, look at who they put in control of the House minority. Let's go Branden🤮
