ABOUT KRISTIE NOEM, GOV. OF SOUTH DAKOTA;  I heard her explanation for the excerpt from her Book which apparently has many people all upset and apparently it relates to a story about a Dog. In Ranching and Farming pursuits, a Dog has a particular use. My friend Macky Hedges, a Ranch Manager his entire Life, had Dogs which he used to help gather cattle most of the time, by himself. The Dogs worked with him as a Team in gathering the cattle, especially out of rough, heavily brushed and wooded gullies and canyons. The Dogs could get the cattle out in the open a lot quicker than people working them horseback, and on foot, it was virtually hopeless because of how thick the brush happens to be, and snakes are a plenty so it makes it pretty dangerous also. When not working the Cattle, Macky would have them ride with him on the Saddle on his Horse. Their feet would get sore riding the distances Macky would ride during a typical day.

Npw as Kristie Noem is concerned, she took on for Rescue, a pretty aggressive and uncontrollable Dog, it attacked people, killed chickens and other small animals, and had bitten quite a few people, including small children. To load up a Dog like that is dangerous, and the nearest Facility to put a Dangerous Dog down, was miles away. The alternative for such and Animal is to shoot them. It is quick, painless, and effective. She explained that she had tried to train the mean out of the Dog, but it did not work. She has Children, and the Safety of her Children was more important than the Dog. She made a choice.

Now some will suck in their breath, and deem that inhumane, but your sonewhat  protected by the City Life you have lived. For you who want to take the time, watch probably on YouTube, a Movie called "Buck" about Buck Brannamon, a horse trainer, who was the Tech Advisor for Robert Redford's Movie "Horse Whisperer". In his Movie Buck Brannamon gave  people the Truth about Animals that are dangerous to People. The Animal was a beautiful, very well bred, Quarter Horse Stallion, perfed conformation, but due to circumstances concerning its birth, was born with insufficient brain development. The animal was unpredictiable, for it would be calm, and then doe to some cognitive malfunction, would attack its handler. This unfortunatley happened on Camera, for the Horse bit a man in the head, and tore part of his scalp off. The man had to be helicoptered to the Hospital.

That Stallion had to be destroyed. There is some more to this story, but watch the Movie if you want to know. The important point I am making here is that much as we don't like it, sometimes an Animal has to be put down, or it can kill or seriously injure someone, even a small child. Animal's sometimes are seriously mistreated by their "human owners" and it's not the falult of the animal, but they become dangerous. Nevertheless, the animal must be destroyed. Over here, a woman was jogging along a path that is often used for Jogging, and two Pit Bull dogs, who were abandoned, attacked her and killed her.As an Animal Control Officer, what do you do, if you are trying to find the Dogs, and they attack you.

My choice is to take care of myself first, That, by the way, is Called Survival. It's a God Given Instinct.

John Kennedy strikes again.  Today he was talking about Joe Biden's statement about the protests and how Biden is in a mess because he has to worry about the Muslims who are almost all Democrats. Kennedy said Biden looked, "More nervous than a Pregnant Nun!" While making the statement.

Michael K, until your insightful post, I didn't understand why some people have called Cristy Noam a dog killer. It seems that killing a human who is threatening the life and safety of your family is ok, but to kill a dog under the same circumstances is unforgivable. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Katy, all politics aside, I join many others in supporting you and your daughter during these difficult times. She has been through a terrible ordeal over the past few years with you at her side. I pray for her continued recovery.

Frank, I, too, admire Sen. Kennedy's style. I admire the way he uses his folksy Louisiana accent to catch witnesses off guard. We need more like him.

Frank, I am assuming from what you just said you are also blaming the campus protesters on Biden.  Where did you blame trump for the BLM demonstrations or the George Floyd demonstrations.  Or are only Democratic Presidents responsible for demonstrations happening during their terms in office. I'll wait for your answer........probably a very long time. That's why, in my opinion, the  trump followers are a cult.

Kelly, no matter what you wrote, of course Noem wasn't wrong in your eyes, she is a Republican and they do no wrong, there are many, many organizations that would have taken the dog to rehabilitate it.  A friend of mine volunteered at one shelter where they only worked with unadoptable rescues, training them to be either family pets or service dogs.  They were well over 95% successful and the ones they couldn't train were not euthanized, they were sent to a rescue group with lots of land, I think in Utah. If Noem will kill an animal she can't control, including a goat, how does she treat her other animals?  My uncle was a dairy farmer in Wisconsin  I spent a lot of time on the farm  I know the difficult decisions that have to be made.  This wasn't difficult, you take the time to get the animal to an organization that helps with difficult to control animals.  But the way trump dislikes animals, she might have moved up on his Vice-Presidential list, maybe she could shoot some undocumented people, many Republicans feel that are useless people and taking resources.  WOW, that would certainly move her to the top of the list.  Don't think this is way out there, trump himself said he wanted to shoot people at looting, no trial, no proof of quilt, just shoot them. Noem might just be it because from what I understand now, Marco Rubio who started kissing trumps behind when he lost in the primaries, would cause issues with the Electoral College.

Thanks DeWitt, Sherri is very strong. I am so thankful for that. But, cancer is cancer and it sucks.  They have to almost kill you to get rid of the cancer. I'm just now reading that the chemical in Roundup is being found in oat based cereals and energy bars.  Company profits over health. I would like for one Presidential candidate to undertake improving our food sources.  I have thought for many years our chemically assisted food is a cause of many of our ailments, including cancer.  The chemical in Roundup has even been found in baby food. Many other countries don't allow the chemicals to be used.  For some reason our cancer rates are increasing and some cancers are affecting younger people.

The BLM protesters, the anti-war protesters during Vietnam and just like the protesters now, these protesters are almost all Democrats.  I criticized Trump for his part of January 6th and I also criticized those protesters but, I never heard any of them yelling "Death to America" like some of these idiots are doing!!  I saw a sign at UCLA, "Gays for Gaza".  Who ever put that sign up is an idiot!!  Radical Muslim Countries execute Gays.  I also criticized the Cop (he doesn't deserve to be called a Police Officer) who choked George Floyd to death.----I have never been on the UCLA campus and have never seen pictures of the campus before.  Some beautiful buildings that have now been defaced.  A couple of the scenes I've seen from George Washington University I saw live about a year ago.  We walked from the Lincoln Memorial about 1/2 mile to the Metro Station at the University.  These idiots have defaced the beautiful statue of George Washington that I saw a year ago.  What a shame.

Katie, this is what I mean when I say that outside of politics, we could get along nicely. I agree with your concerns over chemicals added to our food. I believe, too, that these could be the cause of several of our ailments, including cancer. You have to be a chemist to understand what many of the ingredients are on a food package. We all have different immune systems, so what may not affect one person could cause the death of another. This is a price we pay for moving away from an agricultural society. Farmers grow healthy food, but the processors degrade it to make it last longer on the shelves and increase their profit.

05/02/24 06:19 PM #13354

Katie Baribeau (Moore)

Frank, let's just say the protesters were Democrats, which I am only doing because it doesn't make an iota of difference to me,  Republicans, Democrats, if they are breaking the law they should be held accountable.   It is against the law to destroy the property of others or harm another person.  The only protest I know anything about personally is Portland and there were paid for agitators as well as people taking advantage of the demonstration and looting.  They should have been held accountable just like some of the Jan 6th demonstrators. Portland was dramatically damaged.  It is sad.  If you are holding the President at the time accountable for the demonstrators then trump has a lot to answer for, including January 6th.  I don't hold the President responsible but I do hold city officials responsible and I hold college administrators responsible. Republicans, Democrats it make no difference..........the law is supposed to be blindfolded.  In my opinion the courts have become political as well.  I'm just trying to point out hypocrisy.  If you posted about January 6th, I commend you, you would have been one of the few.  I was pleased this morning that President Biden made a statement to the demonstrators, not nearly tough enough for me, but he did it.

I have said before that Biden was not my first choice, I didn't vote for him in the 2020 primary because I thought his age was a factor,  I also remembered his behavior during the Thomas hearings and I had some other reservations.  Since he has been President he has made mistakes, in my opinion. But what I dislike the most is hypocrisy. Looking at the negative in only one candidate or one party is, again, in my opinion, total ignorance.  trump may win, I have no crystal ball, but if he does, we need to be ready to react if he again has love affairs with dictators, I really don't want to live in a dictatorship.

DeWitt, my uncle was a dairy farmer in Wisconsin. He was my dad's twin so we spent a lot of time there.  He had a garden and between what he grew and what the local framers traded, he very seldom went to a grocery store.  They canned their veggies and fruits to last the whole year. Monsanto got to some of the neighbors and started by charging the farmers very little to use their chemicals on their crops.  Uncle Lloyd never did.  After some years the chemicles sold by Monsanto had gone way up in price and the farmers had signed contracts to use them for a quite long period of time. Many of them would come to my uncle for canned items because they tasted so much better than the chemical fortified crops. Now we know those chemicals are also bad for our  health.  So Monsanto had the farmers under contract to use their chemicals whether they wanted to or not. It was sold as a way to have better food with less pest infestation.  Too bad it also kills us, Monsanto has deep pockets and the small local farmers couldn't do a thing. After my uncle gave up farming they canned food and sold it. When they would visit us they would bring fresh items with them. I still remember the taste of tomatoes, potatoes, watermelon, and a few other foods.  People nowadays don't know what they are missing.

Biden wants to import "refugees" from Gaza.  Is he completely insane?  "Gaza residents" voted 98% in favor of Hamas to run their government.  Hamas are some of the worst terrorists on the face of the earth.  Trump is right.  Biden is the worst president in my lifetime.  It is clear that he is being run by evil people who want to take our country down because he hasn't had a cogent thought in decades.

I wish I could post a very graphic video I have seen of the 10/7 massacre on this Forum.  If I could do that and the left on this site continue to support Biden and the extreme left wing of the democrat party, then everyone will see for themselves what We The People who love America are up against.

Our campuses are being overrun with "protestors" ....I call them Anarchists....who scream death to Israel and death to America.  This is NOT freedom of speech.  It is vile, horrible Anarchy.  They say "They are Hamas."  I believe them.  When someone tells you they want you dead, you would be wise to believe them.

Now the snowflakes at some campuses want final exams canceled and passing grades given to everyone because they are simply distraught, or words to that effect.  Let's take it a step further and "forgive" their student debt, shall we?  How in the hell can it be that "our universities" are even negotiating with these Anarchists?  But they are and they WILL cave to demands.  Mark my words.

And still, no mention by Biden, the universities, or democrat politicians about the hostages being held by Hamas.  The only way to handle this is to get out of Israel's way and to help them exterminate the cancer that is Hamas.

And, guess what.  "Our" attention is being drawn away from Biden's border....the biggest existential threat our country has faced since Pearl Harbor/WWII.  And this is all happening just before a presidential election.  I don't believe in coincidences.  Do you?

Now, let the onslaught from the radical left on this site begin and take us back to when George Washington owned slaves.  Buff off that rear view mirror and reduce the dialogue to the ridiculous...yet again.

SECURE THE BORDER!!  ENFORCE THE LAW!!  AMERICA FIRST!!

Jim, excellent post, as always. Let there be no doubt that everything this administration is doing is to undermine our constitution, Republic, freedom, and liberty. It is a concerted effort to bring Marxist-style dictatorship to our country. Biden is only a placeholder for this movement and only does what his Communist bosses tell him to do or say. He even has trouble following his orders due to memory loss, stumbling and bumbling around, forgetting where he is, and not knowing how to exit a stage. The riots, and they are riots, on university campuses, are orchestrated by paid outside agitators for that purpose. The failure of university presidents and professors to stop this is also cheering this on. The Marxists will stop at nothing to keep Trump from becoming President. They know he will impede their efforts, So keep a sharp eye out for the next few months. You know they are going to try to distract us and keep our minds off of what they are really doing. They know it is going to be harder to commit the election fraud that they successfully used in 2020, so they will try harder.

This is a Question for all who want to make a genuine contribution to Civilization of the World. Of Course, there will be naysayers but it will also be a first hand example of  who, and what constitutes the Core of Troublemakers in our Country since 2020.

Someone needs to conduct a very straightforward Survey of how many of the Demonstrators who are chanting Death to Israel and Death to America and calling  for Intifada, what Political Affiliation they definitely are not.

Im betting that at 44 locations all over the  USA you will not find one Republican amongst the Entire Groups of them with their Table Cloth Do Rags and their demands for Vegan anl Lo whatever foods, water, and toiletries that they are demanding from us.

At the same Time, Im betting that at least 75 Percent of  them are Registered Democrats.

And my Conclusion about who the Trouble Makers are===========You got it Right if you Said Democrats.

Thats why a Vote for Biden is a Vote for Losing your Country. He is the worst of Loser's ever to be  called a President.

Katie  Your 13561 really is a Character Study----------about you. Your spleen knows no limits. Just look how you talk about Donald J. Trump and Kristi Noem. You are what you say you don't want to be. Makes you a hypocrite, or a Liar, or both. Why don't you have your "Dog Whisperer" send a letter to  Kristi Noem and tell her how they "Know a Better Way" . Oh, and there is one other Reason I would support Kristi Noem, she's one of the best looking Women in Politics and that seems to be a Classification that democratic women just can't seem to capture. I've been accused so often of being whatever you call us, a mysoginist,  that it no longer matters to me, Im 77 years old and happy just as I am.

I mentioned a very graphic video COVERING THE 10/7/23 massacre by Hamas of Israeli citizens.  I am attempting to produce the link so anyone who cares to see the video may do so.  It struck me to the core.

This video represents THE HAMAS that college "protestors" claim to be.  They are now in my mind irrelevant and should be prosecuted, imprisoned and/or removed from our country forever.

VIEW IF YOU HAVE THE STOMACH FOR REALITY.  Don't look away.  This is where we are now.

So Jared Bernstein (Biden's Cheif Economics Advisor) keeps telling us the Economy is Great.  I did some research.  Here are his qualifications.  Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Master's in Social Works, and PHD in Social Welfare.  Makes sense now why Biden keeps giving Billions of our money to Social Welfare programs, the latest being Unconstitutionally forgiving student loan debt of students who went to a Fine Arts School.  In other words----Art Students!!  It seems to me that Bernstein is qualified to be a Socialist, but not a Cheif Economist?

Katie Baribeau (Moore)

How about this, Bill.......Congratulations Leticia James and Alvin Bragg for holding trump accountable for his illegal, immoral behavior.  Hopefully Georgia and Florida will have enough fortitude to do the same.

Frank, since you're questioning resumes of cabinet members, I'm sure you must have done the same with trumps appointees.  Let's start with Rick Perry.  Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) misunderstood the administration post that President-elect donald trump nominated him for. In a report getting attention on social media, Perry accepted the nomination to be Energy secretary “believing he was taking on a role as a global ambassador for the American oil and gas industry that he had long championed in his home state.”  In the days after, Mr. Perry, the former Texas governor, discovered that he would be no such thing — that in fact, if confirmed by the Senate, he would become the steward of a vast national security complex he knew almost nothing about, caring for the most fearsome weapons on the planet, the United States’ nuclear arsenal.  So, a man who knew nothing about weapons of mass death, was tasked with over seeing our entire arsenal.   You wouldn't be hypocritical about appointing people to do very big jobs in our government, would you.  Hypocrisy know thy name.  A President's job is to nominate the best people for the position. I'm not a fan of all the people President Biden has nominated but Bernstein is not one I question, the resume you printed doesn't  tell the full story of his achievements, imagine that.  Jared Bernstein is a senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. From 2009 to 2011, Bernstein was the chief economist and economic adviser to Vice President Joe Biden, executive director of the White House Task Force on the Middle Class, and a member of President Obama’s economic team. Prior to joining the Obama Administration, Bernstein was a senior economist and the director of the Living Standards Program at the Economic Policy Institute, and between 1995 and 1996, he held the post of deputy chief economist at the US Department of Labor. Bernstein holds a PhD in social welfare from Columbia University and is the author and co-author of numerous books for both popular and academic audiences, including his latest book, The Reconnection Agenda: Reuniting Growth and Prosperity. Bernstein has published extensively in various venues, including the New York TimesWashington Post, and the American Prospect. He is an on-air commentator for the cable station CNBC and a contributor to the PostEverything blog by the Washington Post.

Nasty Pelosi being awarded the Medal of Freedom by Biden is a no-brainer. Imagine the Medal of Freedom being awarded and accepted by people least interested in freedom for America. What a laugh! They are trying to take away our right to our religious beliefs and our right to free speech and promote violent (not peaceful) protests of each. They are also trying to take away our most fundamental right of all, our right to choose our president, in attempting to take their biggest challenger off the ballot. And what's this about Trump's 'love affair' with dictators?  Trump stood up to dictators with sanctions and tariffs. He stopped the flow of money to the biggest terrorists in the world: Iran. He ended wars and brought peace to the Middle East with the Abraham Accords. Kim Jong 'Rocket Man' Un stopped firing rockets toward our allies. Xi Jinping stopped threatening Taiwan. But Biden, or his controllers, ended all of that and has invited terrorists from these places into our country. And we see what is now happening. It seems as though Biden is the one with his nose up the arses of dictators.

Frank, an engineering graduate taking care of our nuclear arsenal......you have much lower standards that most when it come to watching over weapons that could end the Earth as we know it.  I wonder what class in his college work that gave him the knowledge to do this.  Nuclear weapons 101.....I hear it's required study for all engineer degrees.  Rick Perry didn't even know what his job was.  But I get you message, anyone trump appoints, good, anyone President Biden appoints, bad.     If we all just accept that, then we will be able to accurately determine your post relavence.  Oh, I forgot, becoming a Republican.....that sure gave him experience in nuclear weapons.

Katie Baribeau (Moore)

DeWitt, I was thinking about what you said, that we might be able to be friends if it wasn’t for politics, I’m not sure that is fully correct so I will take a correction if that is not what you meant.  I wonder……I think we live in two different worlds, you describe one I truly do not know.  I have watched Nancy Pelosi for years, as far as I can tell she has always been a promoter of a Progressive agenda.  I haven’t known the woman you describe as not interested in freedom for America.  I think that is where you and I differ so much.  I don’t dislike a person for following their belief system, I respect someone for that but may not ever cast a vote for them.  I like much of what John McCain, Jeff Flake, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Paul Ryan, etc have said and done because they follow their beliefs.  Would I vote for them, absolutely not, but do I think they are bad people, no.   People have the right to their opinions, to promote their opinions and ideas for our country.  I have the right to disagree.  Before trump I never knew I had to hate the messenger, and follow lock step.  Nancy Pelosi’s husband was brutally attacked and trump made fun of him.  That shows no class, no empathy and absolutely no was to handle an illegal act.  Making fun or someone who was almost fatally harmed……..sickening.

As far as freedom of religion, I consider myself a Buddhist, I’m don’t follow it all but the general philosophy is very comforting to me.  I respect Christians as long as they practice their faith with deeds, not words.  What drove me away from Christianity is people like one we have here who uses the Bible, not as it was written but as he a book to used to prop up his hatred of “other.”.  I saw this happening a few times and knew I needed to go in a different direction.  I don’t hate Christians, in fact, I believe most praying Christians put positivity in the world so I honor them for that.  I have a grandson who is a pastor for a small evangelical church, he isn’t a victim.  He preaches his beliefs with no censorship from outside.  I have another family member who is a pastor.  They hold services in each others homes or yards because they believe the money put into buildings could be used better in other circumstances, like help the poor.  He also is allowed to preach what he wants with no censorship.  I am always thankful for those of you on this site who pray for Sherri, because she needs all the help she can get.  Positivity, freedom of religion and freedom from religion, that is my belief.  If one has to impose their beliefs rather than bring a person in by their behavior, then I turn away.  That was one reason I was drawn to Buddhism, beliefs are not imposed, they feel that by actions and outcomes they will inspire people for good.

The right to choose the President.  Again, words just don’t do it.  In Arizona we have had 3 recounts, the Ninja counters, several lawsuits, nothing has been successful in showing trump won and Biden lost.  One very honorable man was Rusty Bowers.  He is an extreme Republican but her followed his beliefs.  What did he get?  He was harrassed at his home where he was caring for his seriously ill daughter, he was censured by his party and lost his seat in the election.  All of this for testifying his truth.  That is sad.  You can yell it from Mt. Denali but until you have PROOF that will hold in a court of law, you don’t have anything.  This is the same across the nation, words, not proof.  I don’t know how many times Guillani said he would show the proof of election fraud, crickets.  Oh well, if some believe something with zero proof, that’s your right, but it certainly does not become factual until you have some proof.

Last but not least, trumps love of dictators.  I’ll just take the latest.  Orbán was at Mar-A-Lago last week…..trumps words, “there’s nobody that’s better, smarter or a better leader than Victor Orbán.”  Said about Kim Jong Un, “we fell in love after exchanging letters.”  Sometimes he made tough statements about sanctions on North Korea but carried through on very few and let the human rights atrocities in North Korea stand unconfronted.  trump and Putin, I don’t even have to put anything down here because trumps love of Putin is well known.  Trump indicated Putin was a genius and very savvy for invading Ukraine, he just couldn’t stop praising him.  To me, these are examples of trumps foolishness around dictators.  They play him like a well tuned piano.

We just live by different ideals and we don’t see the world the same.  The issue then becomes how we treat each other in disagreement.  That is the very sad part of this group.  “If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”  This has been attributed to Lincoln but there is much discussion about that.  Anyway, this I believe, we are falling from within because we now, after trump, have 0 sum allowance for differences.  If you don’t believe what I believe, you are a bad person worthy of being called names and belittling.  I do it sometimes I know, I am not perfect (but I am learning to walk on water).  But sometimes it is just nasty.  Why, does anyone here think they will convince another person of anything, we don’t have to be divisive.  Views may be stated without the downright nastiness.  So in ending this diatribe……I don’t know why I am here, I just am.  Someday I might walk away for good and let you Conservatives take over, say anything you want without challenge.  Or, I might stay forever, at least presenting the other side.  I don’t know what is to come, all I do know is that the future will come and kick us in the butt if we don’t find some unifying goal.  We will fail as a country and we will deserve to fail.  So I will share one more of my favorite sayings.  “Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.” Benjamin Franklin

Trump's love of dictators. Really?  He called Kim Jung Il "Rocket Man" ahd so how many Rockets did he Fire off after that?  Putin, he kept Putin from Invading Ukraine. The first Invastion happened in 2014 because Obama sent Joe Biden to Ukraine to lend them 1.6 billion dollars, and Joe Biden used the Loan to Extort the Ukrainian Government with keeping Hunter from being indicted for Fraud having to do with Burisma. That was in 2014 and Russia was able to take part of Ukraine from Ukraine because Biden did his Illegal Stunt.  Obama was STILL PRESIDENT. in 2014. TRUMP LEVIED billions of Dollars on China, and they bitched and complained but Paid the Import Duties. Trump never gave Iran a Nickel, Rather, he blocked them from receiving Billlions of Dollars and brought their Nuclear Capabilities to a Standstill. As to Orban, isnt he the Leader of Hungary, and Hungary doesn't want George Soros in Hungary, and has a Dead/Alive Warrant out on Him. He has negative views of allowing Ukraine into NATO which I don't agree with at all. Perhaps he visited Trump at Mara A :Lago because Trump anticipating becoming President, needs to get a Bead on Orban and whether he will be Help or a Hindrance in uniting NATO with Ukraine.
