i have  read most of today's comments and its 940 am PCT Pacific Coast Train Wreck Time, and I agree with Jim Coats. He pretty much nailed it. Why dialogue (real or attempted) with the Oppressives on this Site. It's enough that they stubbornly hold on to all things biden while the SOB continues to  keep our Gasoline Shortage at monumental levels because he Hates Hates Hates Hates Hates Donald J. Trump and the rest of the Oppressives slavishly  go along with the Swill that biden vends while he takes money from Chinese Commies half a World away who want to slaughter us with No Notice. It angers me that I cannot even buy my favorite Cookies for a dollar a package when Trump was President and now they are over 3 bucks a package at ARCO and I have to  pay 6.79 a gallon for Gasoline when Trump who they all Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate had the gasoline down to less than 2 bucks a gallon here in Mexifornia. Now some call out excuse after excuse after excuse which have no foundation in Reality, and as Coats, they expect us to be all nicey nice and smile while grimacing inside at the LIES. Moving along, line by line, Biden's 'beautiful' Speech in Arizona. Cindy McCain being there doesn't impress me or many other Republicans. In one of the last Arizona elections I voted in, I voted for John McCain. But his personal vendetta against Trump made him turn to the dark side. He probably would have voted to end Obama Care if Trump had not been President. Being caught and becoming a POW does not automatically make you a hero. That is unless you decide to run for the Senate or President one day. Thousands of BRAVE soldiers became POWs but were never called a hero.

Your comments in support of the open border were really irritating. That any TRUE American would support that is unbelievable unless that is because you support tons of poison-laced drugs crossing the border: enough, in fact, to kill every man, woman, and child in America many times over. My hats off to our U.S. MARINES.

Im more than proud to say that my grandmothers brother was a U.S. MARINE he was a sgt with the 5th Marines  16th company that were very busy in WWI.  He fought in Fort Reviere Haity Veravo, Belleu Woods, Chateau Thierry, St. Michael Champagne. He was wounded in battle and got his honorable discharge 1918. He was awarded the Croix, de Guerre, but from what I read that was pretty common for a Marine. Then in 1941 he registered for WWII.  Dam... god does love the Marines.  He ended up marring his French girlfriend who nursed him back to help after experiencing wounds from Chateau Thierry.

You are more than right Patty that i was dissed by an expert.  I have always tried to take the middle ground. When it comes to politics I am having a tough time trying to be fair to all.  I had hopped that smoothing views would make people aware that hostility is taking root. Go ahead your right I was wrong.....The country will be on standby with nothing getting done.  Its funny but I see so many times when I agree with you all;  but many are too blind to see it.  So the days of my country right or wrong are no longer happening.  I have learned to piss with the wind. Now it only comes back on oneself.

To Michael Kelly about post 10978,  I've been following this conversation for years since my friend Larry Larsen's death was announced here.  I find it a fascinating insight into our country.  Today I read the first thing anybody has stated about which I have any personal knowledge.  Mike said that Trump wanted to build a hotel in Phoenix and it was blocked by government bureacracy similar to New York and what is happening with Trump now in New York.  I was in Phoenix when this was happening and this is not what I remembered at all and it didn't make sense because Phoenix always has been such a pro-business environment.  My memory is that Trump  wanted to build a luxury hotel much higher than  zoning at 24th and Camelback and the neighborhood went up in arms and created such an uproar that the government finally caved and did not change the zoning to suit Trumps plans, which it had wanted to do.  I checked my memory on Wikipedia which confirmed it.  So, realizing this conversation is mostly about emotion and belief, I have finally found a specific statement that I know is not true.  I hope Mike will acknowledge he was wrong about this specific factoid.  This whole conversation, I think, should be about learning from each other and listening to each other and therefore changing beliefs and points of view rather than simply affirming the status quo.  I'm weighing in now because this is the first thing I've read in this whole time that I actually know about.   Everything else I've read by everyone posting  has been about how someone feels or what they heard from some other source of information without any knowledge of its validity on my part

Thanks Bill Bonfiled for the facts about the height restriction as related to Trump not wanting to build a Hotel. It is perfectly fine if neighbor did not want a Hotel above a certain height. A former Arizona Republic Reporter told me about the incident, because she attended the meeting.or at least one of them. I can't find fault with Trump or with the Height Restriction complainants. 

Yesterday Trump said he would, if elected, instruct Federal Troops if detailed to defend private property rights of Retail Store Owners in the face of Looting, to fire upon the Looters as they left the Stores. 

Where does Freedom overreach and Protecton of Property and Persons begin? This seems to be a question we may all be facing soon. Where do you Stand?

Bill Bonfield  Just how was I wrong in describing Trump's frustration with the Bureaucracy in attempting to gain a Zoning Variance Apparently he became fristrated with the Delay. How does that equate with me being at fault for stating what happened. Neither side was right or wrong, nor am I in error for stating the overall outcome. Bureacracies are ofteh in error, and go for years being so until someone says they are wrong. That's an exercise of Freedom from Government Intrusion. Please tell me what you mean!

Good Morning Michael,  let me tell you what I mean.  First, I never said you were wrong in describing Trump's frustration.  Second, you are at fault for stating what happened because what you stated was wrong.   You said that in Arizona ""the same specie of business acumen associated with the government got him boloxed up with numberous permit proceedings" and so he left.  (The same specie you were referring to is whats happening now to him in New York).  This is simply wrong and not what happened in Arizona. Third, you are not in error for stating the ultimate outcome because that is your very passionate personal opinion. Some people in Arizona are very glad that Trump left and do not view it as a negative.  It remains to be seen what will happen if he leaves New York.   Finally, and most importantly, you used Arizona as a warning example of what will happen to New York due to "terminal business stupidity and hate over food on the plate".  The two situations are totally different.  Arizona is an example of Trump being frustrated by citizens resisting the governments attempt to do Trumps bidding.  New York is an example of government attempting to hold Trump accountable for alleged business improprieties.   Your very emotional conflating of these two very different situations makes me doubt your position on New York although that is not a situation I am personally familiar with.    So, that is what I meant.  My purpose is not to "prove" you wrong but suggest an environment where people learn and change their beliefs when appropriate.

Bill Bonfield  Trump's business holdings in New York which are now the object of potential governmental confiscation allegedly due to fraudulent representations of the value of such holdings is what is called UNCONSTITUTIONAL because the confiscation of  property by Government Seizure must pass muster as taking place based upon Fair Valuation. Letitia James NY AG has begun the process of confiscating Trump's and Family holdings in the State of New York. The justification she asserts as stepping stone for the process is that the Trumps lied about the values of their properties, apparently in order to obtain loans for business needs.

The Banks have their own valuation departments which value the properties you would use as assets backing up the application for a Loan. If James is correct, then she has relegated Banks to businesses wholly regulated by New York government in loaning money. This is not the case but if it is, then so much for the Trump Family ever again conducting any business in New York. So long to the concepts of Due Process on both Federal and State levels  Is that the kind of government business regulation you want?  It is the essence of what us so called Crazy TDS labelers claim, that many things done to Donald J. Trump, and his Family result from nothing LESS BUT A SPECIE OF MENTAL DERANGEMENT BASED UPON HATRED OF DJ TRUMP. IN FACT, ITS A PERFECT EXAMPLE. IT WILL ALSO DESTROY BUSINESS ANYWHERE GOVERNANCE IS ASSERTED BASED UPON HATRED OF SOMEONE FOR ALLEGED "BAD CHARACTER" OR OTHER PERSONAL HUBRIS AGAINST THEM. 

As to the incident in Arizona, if Arizona undertakes the same Modus Operandi for exercise of Government Regulation over building new businesses, whether incidentally having been applied for by Donald J. Trump, or someone else, then Arizona's business climate will result in the shunning of attempting to conduct business in Arizona as to somewhere else. it is simply not worth the extra money needing to be thrown down a deep, dark Hole to be able to build a business California, where I live, has page after page of businesses which have left California for other states due to hostile business climate here. it has gotten so bad that our Governor is attempting to levy ten years of Taxes on Citizens who decide to leave California. Whether the departer is a business, or a family who finds California too much of a Rock upon the Family Ship.

All Banks have Shareholders, so it cannot be honestly presented that such Banks don't have their own Loan Approval Departments, for Bad Loans make for Loss of Profits per Share. Letitia James will have to show that the Trumps not only Duped the State of New York, which is her only real client, "The State of New York", but she will have to show the Bank's Loan Departments were Duped also. If she is able to do so,  then arguably Trump and his Family will have to  pony up some money. ASSUMING THAT SUCH DECISIONS COME FROM COURT PROCEEDINGS FAIRLY CONDUCTED, AND WITH  REAL EVIDENCE PRODUCED AND JURIES WHICH ARE NOT UNDULY INFLUENCED AND TAMPERED WITH. 

THIS CONCERNS ME FOR IT HAS TO DO WITH THE FOUNDATION OF OUR COUNTRY the US CONSTITUTION.

Bear with me a moment.  I just turned 76 and "things" come to me.  The older I get, the more I question the cosmos and everything contained within its confines.

When talking about....let's say....Democrats and Republicans, left vs. right, extreme left vs. extreme right....of course they all exist within "my" cosmos.  To go a step further, could we call "my cosmos" reality?  And could reality be compared to the earth insofar as having an equator....360 degrees smack around the earth....or, for my thesis, reality?

If so, could extreme left wing people circumnavigate reality to the left and extreme right wing people head to the right?

If that is possible....in my world....isn't it logical to assume that they might meet on the other side and.... weary from the journey, come together in a spirit of cooperation and brotherhood?
