Mike W.  Keep us informed.  I'm very sorry about the back misery.  Hang in there.

Mike K.  Keep on moving forward.  Never surrender....never retreat.

I like Youngkin too, but I think it's not the right time for him.  He's a very possible future candidate.  Ramaswamy is good, but probably too early due to lack of name recognition....even though he impresses me the most right now.  Looking forward to the debate.  I think DeSantis shot himself in the foot going after Disney....even though he was right.  His numbers are falling and he's losing staff.  Let's see who comes out on top in the debate.

Trump.....well, he's being Trump.  He might do a modified Ali Rope-a-Dope/Biden Basement Campaign while he is fighting the entire Justice Department.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if he wins.  Then, we'll need to put on our asbestos underwear because the country will be set on fire.

Sunday Funnies--1. I was telling Jim Coats that I was really worried about crime and he told me to get a 9 mm, a couple of clips and a box of shells.  I bought a wrench, 2 Alligator Clips, and a box of Shells (I got Macaroni) but I don't feel any safer.  2. A message came up on my computer saying, "Press any key to continue."  I couldn't find one that says, "Any"?  3. The closest I ever get to a Spa day is when I open the dishwasher and a blast of steam hits me in the face.  4. A guy is sitting at the bar ordering drink after drink.  The bartender asks if there's something wrong?  The guy says, "My Wife got mad at me and said she wasn't talking to me for 30 days."  The bartender says, "Look at it from the positive side.  Sometimes it's good to have some peace and quiet."  The drinker responds, "Yes, but today is the 30th Day!"  And now a couple from Jim Coats--5. A shelf at Walgreens collapsed and I was struck by a bottle of Omeha 3.  Thankfully the wound is only Super Fish Oil.  6. Kleptomaniacs always take things literally.  N.S.  Michael K.--I agree with Jim about the Will Rogers and Louie but I'd add Perry Mason in there.  With all you've been through, I'm very impressed by how positive you are.  Mike W.--Are you doing any Physical Therapy?  They had me doing exercises before I had my Shoulder Replacement.  A.N.S.--I like Glen Youngkin.  He reminds me of a young Ronald Reagan--He uses Logic to present his case and gets his way with a smile on his face.

After hearing about some of your problems, especially from Michael K., I almost didn't want to post anything about my trivial issues, however, I haven't mentioned anything about my eyes in a while, so I thought I would give you an update. My eyes are steadily getting worse. I was told I would go blind in time. Not the kind of blindness that will be completely dark but the kind where I will not see details and be unable to do any of the things I like to do. I can see that my driving days are coming to an end. I've had so many accidents that my insurance company canceled me. Now the only insurance I can get is at a very high cost. I will keep Michael K., Micheal W., Jim C, and others in my thoughts and prayers. Most of us at our age are starting to experience aches and pains, But some of you are getting more than your fair share. KEEP UP THE FIGHT!

DeWitt.  I sure am sorry to hear about your eye problems.  Please keep us in the loop.  We'll keep you in our prayers.  Rough situation.  Hang tough.

Mike K.  Hey, Lefty.  Did you notice it's International Left Handers Day?  You should mark August 13th on your calendar.

DeWitt, sorry to hear about your eyes deteriorating. I have eye issues as well but no diagnosis yet as you have had. Do as much as you can while you can. I guess I don't need to say that but just do it. Take care all you fellow CHS classmates. Prayers!

Hi De Witt and Michael K.--I don't know if you have checked with the V.A. But they provide some good services.   It might be worth a trip.  They are much better than they used to be.  They also have Community Care (local Docs if you're 50 miles from a V.A. Facility) now but you must be registered with them.

Thanks, Frank. I do use the VA. They check my eyes every six months.

Thanks to all of you for your comments and encouragement.

De Witt, I have had a couple bouts with skin cancer and they told me they want to see me every 3 months.  It was 1 year, then 6 months.  It sounds to me that with your problem you need more frequent monitoring.  Everyone, did you see Vivik doing the "Rap" song at the Iowa State Fair.  He's done in my book!!  Google it if you missed it.

Frank.  Agreed!  The Dutchess and I looked at each other and had the same conclusion.  Ramaswamy really screwed the pooch.  Too bad.  ENOUGH with I'm the youngest.....but maybe he has an idea.  Maybe he will capture some of the youth vote.....but I doubt it.  They don't even know who we fought in WWII.  Oh, BTW, he thinks new voters should have to pass a Civics Test to vote.  That'll never fly.  Time will tell.  GOT TO get thru the first debate.  About 6 of the people running for the "R" nomination need to go away.  It's nothing more than ego.

Heard a new Country song today (On FOX - Outnumbered) that spoke to me.  Wish I could remember the name and/or artist....red-headed kid with kind of a Phil Davis flattop.  Something like Rich Man North of Richmond or something.  The lyrics that hit me....to the best of my recollection were:  "I'm an old soul in a new world."  I think that might fit a bunch of us.

I wrote a post yesterday that I deleted because I realized I was just peeing into the wind.  Right now.....I'm very down.  I'll get back up, but I am truly tired of the hassle.

P.S.  Biden was leaving the beach and a reporter shouted..."Any comments on the devastation in Hawaii, Mr. President?"  The President of the United States....the great uniter....said...."No comment."  See why I'm down right now?

Just a shout out:

to our classmates who live in Hawaii, i hope all is well.  Not sure if any of you have a home on Maui.

Dennis Foster I believe live in Hawaii but not sure which island.

The fires were so distructive...to such a beautiful place and seeing that old Banyan tree torched... so sad

The loss of lives will be hard to recover from but the businesses and homes can be rebuilt.

Thinking of our times their....so very sad, that so many will not be seeing what we saw.

Most of these wannabe R candidates for president have egos that are driving them. I believe Trump ran for office primarily because he saw the left destroying our nation. I just hope and pray that is the main reason the other R's are running as well. The left is doing their best to turn us into a Communist state run by the global elitists. Tell me where I'm wrong and the liberals are right. Those who claim to be conservative but like liberal values have a lot of explaining to do based on the huge negative issues we are experiencing today.

I am posting this to be fair.  When Lyin Biden was asked about the fires in Lahaina he said, "No Comment."  I don't think he heard the question.  Interesting that, although he was raised there, we haven't heard from Obama??  I wonder if it has anything to do with his Chef drowning on his property??  As Sgt.Schultz said, "Verily In-ter-es-ting?"

DeWitt  A friend of mine who I have spent years riding horses with, and hunting Deer here in the mountains above Lake Isabella in Kern County, started having problems with his Eyes. It turned out that He was able to have the actual lenses in his eyes replaced by plastic inserts and it made his vision better than 20/20 so all is not lost. Check it out with the VA.

I keep hearing Demoncrats say "Well that is only Circustantal Evidence blah blah blah" So for your edification and sharpening of observation, here is some legal definitions from the CALJIC Jury Instructions.

CALCRIM 223 gives Circustantial Evidence the same weight as direct proof. Example, one can see someone running from the Scene of a Shooting at or near the time the Shooting took place. It is logical to infer that the person fleeing the scene, had involvement with the Shooting. This evidence has the same weight as if theperson who did the Shooting was apprehended at the Scene with a smoking Gun in their Hand.

What this means is that just because President Biden has not yet been caught red handed with Chinese Communist Cash in his spotted hands, the fact that some 20 Million plus dollars went into multiple Biden related Corporate Entitues and LLC/s can be logically seen as proof that Joe Biden did receive Bribe Money for his Role in influenceing American Politics in favor of Russia, China, Romania, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.

So when Demoncrats say  "Awwh, its nothing more than Circcumstantial Evicence" Relax, for you know RaceHorse Haynes, a Famous Texas Criminal Defense :Lawyer once sneered and said about his client, a Doctor, who had murdered his wife, Awwh, they got nothing more than Circumstantal Evidence. Im sure all of you reading this recall RaceHorse Haynes ???????  Have a good Monday!!!!

Hey Dewitt, I remember you from Camelback. I only went there for one semester, as my family relocated to Arizona my senior year and the second semester, I went to Phoenix College as I had enough credits to graduate. Anyway, I was reading all you guys thread and note you have some vision issues. Not sure if you are still in the Phoenix area, but if you are and you need a ride someday, I'm glad to help you out. My cell is 602-694-4000. Lester Cox

Hey Lester.  Good to see you on The Forum and nice of you to offer DeWitt assistance.  BTW, I see you were Air Force.  Thank you for your service.

DeWitt:  I'm sure you've researched all of this with your doc, but I had cataract surgery in both eyes that resulted in "new lenses" somehow plugged inside my eyes.  It's all a mystery to me.  Corrected me to 20/20 or better, except I have to carry cheaters with me.  Small price to pay.  Hang in there, buddy.  Never retreat....Never surrender.

De Witt--There's an American Legion in Rogers, Ar.  and they are usually a great source for information and ride services.  The V.A. Will send you to a Doctor outside the system if your problem is above their capabilities, but you need to ask.  Disabled American Veterans are also very helpful even if your condition isn't Service related.  Good Luck!!  N.S.  Welcome Lester!

Anyone else mystified/sickened by our President having NO COMMENT regarding the horrible devastation on Maui?  Now the "Uniter in Chief" is headed for yet another vacation for a week in Lake Tahoe.  Hell, I'm retired and I can't go on vacation as often as "our President."

I can't say that I am currently proud of where our country stands right now.  WE HAVE BEEN OVERRUN AT THE SOUTHERN BORDER....crime is rampant and THE LAW is not being enforced.....and so on, ad infinitum.  Tell me.  IF we get a Republican President, House and Senate, how will we reverse what has been allowed and encouraged to happen by the Democrats?  Will our "law enforcement" put on black tactical gear including shiny jackboots and round up the millions of illegals and send them back across the border?  Doubt that'll happen.  Will "we" start enforcing the law and arrest the "people" in Blue states who are robbing stores blind and attacking "civilians" without compunction?  How do we do this without invoking extreme violence now since it has been allowed to continue so long.....too long?  How will we survive this?

In the meantime, Biden is moving forward with $39billion to "forgive student loans" for "certain" people.  High earners, I hear.  OK, I guess they need it more than the residents of Maui.  Plus, this will buy more votes for Biden, right?  That's the goal, folks.  Socialism, here we come.

CAN WE GET OUR COUNTRY BACK?  RIGHT NOW, I DO NOT SEE A CLEAR PATH.  And if Trump wins, I fear for our country because the left will burn it down.

SECURE THE BORDER/BUILD THE WALL!!  ENFORCE THE LAW!!  AMERICA FIRST!!  FOLLOW THE MONEY.....YOU KNOW WHERE IT'S GOING!!

Just a note about corrective eye treatments. I had lenses replacement due to cataracts in both eyes. I chose what I call bifocal lenses rather than the standard ones which by the way Medicare will pay for. They will not pay the additional cost for the ones I have received. The real benefit I received is that I don't need readers and basically have20/20 vision in both eyes. If you can, I highly recommend the upgrade lenses. Jim C, I totally agree with your closing comment on your last post. Regardless if Trump or another Republican is elected POTUS, all hell will break out as the left resumes their riots (not protests) throughout the high minority populated large cities around the country. And sadly the left justice departments will as they are doing today, absolutely nothing. The liberals and minorities basically are getting away with murder and Trump is being prosecuted for expressing freedom of speech. How much more Fred up can things be?

Three years ago I also got multifocal lenses in both eyes due to cataracts.  I love them, pricey buy well worth it, a year later Buzz got them also, they work well with his astigmatism as well.

One of my biggest concerns is our education system and the teachers unions.  The Parents in New Jersey had to take the school boards to Court today because most school districts want to keep the children's sexual preference away from the Parents.  God help us!!  Please!!

One of my favorite TV Shows is "Law and Order".  There was the first Law and Order.  Then L &O Special Victims.  Good Drama.  So now there are I think 84 charges against Trump.  I said I didn't want the drama but we have it.  Maybe there will be a new Law and Order series.  L & O--Trump.  It would probably have a gigantic audience based on his support.
