Different Subject but Similar in an oblique Way: In 1976 I was a registered Democrat, and I proudly cast my Vote for the very straight talking Jimmy Carter. After alll, what could be bad about electing him as President. But then the country of Iran got rid of the Shah of iran, and ushered in the new Muslim Regime, They promptly took the Americans captive who were working in our embassies and had businesses there. The Muslims imprisoned them, and used them to manipulate us and gain control over the oil industry which we had established for them, and Carter could not respond because true to his promises, he had stripped our Military of much of its effectiveness. Read "Delta Force" by Eric Haney, who was on the mission to free the captives. It failed, and was an International Embarassment. I started re-thinking my Judgment about what was really important for my Voting. When Reagan ran I changed my Registration to Republican and on the day Reagan took office, Iran released our American people who had been imprisoned by them for over two years. What was the Difference? Reagan had a backbone. They knew it. I am not interested in a Politician being President. i am all for someone who gets things Done. Some of it is not pretty, or nice, but it is necessary. I have a friend from Nicaragua whose Aunt became Nicaragua's President, who can tell her Real Story about How Dictators treat people.She, her Father, Mother, Brother, and Sister were run out of their home at Gunpoint by the Sandinistia's who then burned their house and 100 acres of orange Trees down and made them watch. They were told to start walking, and don't come back or you will get the same.Her Family migrated from Nicaragua on foot and crossed the Border into Texas, and then went a registered to becme American Citizens. Legally. Carter is a good man, but as a leader in my opinion he just didn't have it in him to be as strong as an American president Must Be. The woman who became President of Nicaragua and her two brothers, stayed to fignt as Contras to keep Nicaragua free. My friend's mother is a sister of this woman who became the President of Nicaragua. We have Real Enemies who Hate our Freedom. Remember Lt. Colonel Oliver North who served a Prison Term for his helping the Contras. That's some of the nasty business a President occasionally engage in to keep our Country Free. i heard this Woman's story over 20 years ago, and there is much more to it. Another time. Suffice it to say, Joe Biden is in my opinion totally unfit to be President, and has put this Country in a very, very, Weak Position Worldwide. But, he has done Jimmy Carter on Big Favor!
