Mike L. I appreciate your comments in 9726. According to my dad, he never got passed the 7th grade.

My parents' reaction to my bringing home Ds and Fs was not a pretty sight. But I did finish High school. And after I joined the Coast Guard, they were proud parents when they came to my boot camp graduation.

N.Y.C. Mayor Eric Adams is a total idiot!!  Now he's proposed giving Illegals free college education.  Will this insanity ever end?  It seems like NYC and San Francisco are trying to outDUMB each other.  Some good news for you lowlanders.  We have had a home in Colorado for 20 years and we have never seen this much snow, by a long shot, on the ground this time of the year.

Please watch the Ron De Santis interview with Pierce Morgan, and I includ everyone!!  Google it. (Or whatever your preferred search engine is). This Guy is a young Ronald Reagan!!

Frank,

I haven't heard someone gush over a potential POTUS candidate since Rick Perry. Remember him? He was going to be the great savior of the Republican Party. He was on every magazine and news program. His future looked like it was sealed that he would be the next POTUS. Unfortunately he had to start talking about substantive subjects. Then came the infamous primary debate where spoke of one his platforms. You know the promise to eliminate three federal departments. He was able to name two but he just couldn't think of the third. As fate would have it Trump name him to head that department, energy. I always thought even if he could remember the name of the department he was supposed to run, could he find the building.

De Santis has no problem letting people know his positions and why he has them.  He can also put people in their places when they're out of line without being to abusive.  He's no nonsense!!  He was the first Republican to win Miami  County in a long time.  That says a lot for me.  If you want to compare Our Energy Policy under Rick Perry to Our Energy Policy under Jennifer Granholm/Lyin Biden it's easy.  $2.25/Gallon to $4.00+ a gallon.  Perry's/Trumps energy policy was almost twice as 😊 good!!

Mike L. I don't remember Rick Perry. The only Perry I remember was Perry Pool in Phoenix. lol.  He must have been one low-luster candidate. I was probably more concerned about putting food on the table and shoes on my kid's feet than I was about politics at that time.

Trump and DeSantis have two things in common. They don't have any problem speaking their mind, and they like to brag about their accomplishments. Trump started the name-calling when he called DeSantis de-Sanctimonious. If and when Desantis decides to run, I think it will be one bitter name-calling fest. May the best name-caller win! laugh

Mike L., DeWitt and Frank:  I can't help but wince a little when I think of Rick Perry's 2nd run at the presidency in 2015.  I like him, but he wasn't good on his feet and you're right Mr. Lorts, he sure screwed up in the debate.  Of course he "Is the only candidate for anything who screwed up when attempting to be extemporaneous."  That, of course, since I need to explain it to some people, is my direct jab at "ol' quick on his feet, Biden" in case that snuck (sneaked??) by you.

DeWitt.  I just know you're kidding, right?  You do remember the "2015 Keystone Kops Fire Drill primary race", right?

Jim, as I recall, the GOP primary race in 2015 had a lot of candidates. I don't remember them all. I had not been as involved in watching elections as I was that year and didn't know who many of them were. I was watching mainly Trump, Cruz, and Rubio. As I said, Perry must have been so lack-luser that there was nothing to remember him for. I do have to say, though, that as Energy Secretary, he must have done a good job. With him working with Trump, we achieved energy independence for the first time.  I will rescind one point I made. In 2015 I wasn't concerned about food and shoes for my kids. They were all grown, having their own children and grandchildren, and providing for them.

Congratulations to Kevin McCarthy and the House Republicans for passing the PARENTS BILL OF RIGHTS. The leftists hate this bill because it takes away their control over education. In Communist countries, parents have no say in their children's education. Children go only to state-run schools and are educated and indoctrinated into Communism. It may now be an uphill battle to get this through the RINOs and the Commies in the Senate and then to get the brainless amoeba in the White House to sign it. This is more evidence of the slide into Communism they are taking us.

Today Lyin Biden said, while in a meeting in Canada said, "I applaud China".  He then corrected himself saying, "I mean that I want to applaud Canada!"  Doe-Doe Joe is a half wit!!  Google--The Saudis mock Biden.  Lyin Biden is making us a laughing stock!!

In addressing the Fear of Nuclear War brought on by the raving insanity of putin, who has an antiquated idea of restoring the Soviet Union in its vastness and accompanying massive murders of it's own peoples, 22 Million at the hands of Stalin, and sure Hitler was a heinous murderer but Stalin was double Hitler and hardly anyone had it register on the World Stage because Stalin was 'an ally of sorts', it seems that the subject of the Elimination of putin by his own "Tribe" has become a subject in his inner circle. They are talking of assassination, and the ones most outspoken are dropping like flies at a Clinton Dinner Party. I think the last count is a half dozen Oligarchs, and some Kremlin upper echelon members. The concern with giving the Ukrainians Mig 19s seems to be overcautious, i.e. they might start a nuclear war by bombing inside Russia, but of course that Russia has bombed inside Ukraine and killed civilians by the hundreds of thousands, is rarely mentioned by the concerned world leaders when they express their reservations about Ukrainians getting modern Jet Fighters. putin is playing them for all its worth, but you know, after all, they have pictures of putin riding those big Siberian Brown Bears like our Kodiak Brown Bears. Amazing how one demented man can have that much power over half the world's population just because he is a Nutter. Perhaps if he had some, putin's hair would be red or orange.

Glad the Republicans have passed the Parent's Bill of Rights, which sets out a parent's rights in controlling the access to education subject matter that is force fed to the skulls full of mush which Rush Limbaugh used to jokingly refer to when he spoke of elementary and high school education. Seems like nothing anymore is a sacred right that need not be expressed in writing.

i see a great business opportunity for some enterprising souls to set up a private association, free from the entanglements of any government, state or federal, to allow women only to participate in women's sports restricted to women genetically qualified as such. Of course this is as must be because any government entanglement will inevitably lead to governmental laws concerning alleged components of discrimination of sorts, so that women's sports will no longer be accurately women's sports so that it would be a misnomer to call it women's sports..

San Francisco must not want NYC to out-dumb them.  Now they have passed a bill to pay people $300/month to NOT commit Gun crimes.  I wonder when the gang bangers who have received money do commit a gun crime--will they have to pay back the money they got?

03/25/23 03:46 PM #9613

Michael Kelly

Paying Criminals not to commit gun crimes is what the people in neighborhoods do that are controlled by the Mafia, and Cartel gangs. San Francisco is entering into a "Protection Program" that sounds like catering to Domestiic Terrorists, Where is Merrick Garland, head of the DOJ to stop this Tyranny? So how many times a day can a criminal get paid 300 bucks, Is there a limit? I wonder if the criminal must have a miniimum past record to qualify for Violent Welfare Payments. How does a politician even get to the place where they think this is a reasonable solution to anything? Fire the Cops last year, this year pay the criminals to not shoot at, or kill the innocent occupants of San Francisco.

Jim Coats

INSANITY!!  To think that the birthplace of my mother would consider paying criminals not to commit gun crimes is INSANITY.

This is the thinking of the liberal left wing.  Are you happy with that left wingers.....anybody.....anybody at all?

Like every post I find incredulous I researched "San Francisco •••$300" and got the entire story. All of you could do the same or choose to believe whatever fits your viewpoint.

The San Francisco Dream Keeper Initiative, aka Cash for Criminals.  Looks like it actually made it off the ground Mr. Lorts.

Jim,

If you read the entire article you would see that (A) its a test program and (B) it is limited to 10 people that pass a test and agree to the agreement. If the program doesn't work it will be eliminated.

Paying criminals to not commit gun crimes, really? It's been said many times; common sense is not common any more, especially with the left🤮.

Greg Watkins

Paying people not to work, paying criminals not to commit crimes, paying black people reparations when they were never slaves. Paying teachers and other workers to not to come to work and my pet peeve is paying government workers for poor work results and not being able to fire them are reasons why this country is doomed if we keep electing liberals.

03/26/23 05:09 AM #9620

Frank Wiley

So paying people to not commit gun crimes is a test program and so only a few will be paid.  If I was a criminal that used guns and I didn't get the handout I would be angry.  I guess they are going to have people come forward every day or every week and say, "I didn't commit a gun crime today so give me a "Gold Star".  Now how many Gold Stars do I have to have before I get my money?"  Insanity!!  I know they're handing out illegal drugs in San Francisco---I wonder if the City Council is using them?  New Subject--Turkey is part of NATO but they have retained Economic ties with Russia.  What a good friend Turkey is?

Sunday Funnies-- 1. A "Very Frugal" Scotsman was walking down the street in Edinburgh with his Girlfriend when they pass a new swanky restaurant.  The Girl says, "That food smells absolutely delicious!"  Him, being a kindhearted person turns her around so they can walk past it again.  2. Sign outside a Dublin Pub--"7 Course Irish Meal--12 Pounds"------(6 Pints and a Potato)  3. I don't know what all the excitement is.  The Guys had "Gender Studies" in High School.  It was called "Playboy Magazine"!  (Sorry Ladies)   4. When I was young I was poor.  After years and years of hard, honest, and painstaking work, I am no longer----young.  5. I know now how it's going to end for me.  My Grandkids will unplug my "Life Support System" so the can plug in their I-pad. 6. It's no wonder Catholic Priests drink so much---can you imagine listening to people's confessions all day long?  7. I woke up this morning to the sound of my neighbor mowing his lawn.  I was going to get up but decided he could simply mow around me!

Mike L.  The "Cash For Criminals" program has been implemented and funded with numbers containing two commas.  The Director of the program is a Ms. Btwalowindskiteghi, PhD of unknown ancestry.  I didn't bother to write her name down because I fell asleep trying to recreate it on paper.  The foregoing was simply a "representation."  At least she is a PhD in something.  Thank God!  What a relief.

Mike....have you ever heard of a liberal radical left wing program that has been canceled?  Beyond that, can you imagine trying to fire or lay off Ms. B.......PhD?  That would create a firestorm.

Jim,

The 1994 assault weapon ban imposed by Sen. Biden was allowed to expire. The murder rate dropped dramatically during the ban and rose again after the expiration.

Paying criminals not to commit crimes is a contradiction when they are paying criminals TO commit crimes such as shoplifting and attacking people on the street or even murder in some cases without prosecuting them. You can steal up to $1000  from a store without even being arrested. I would say that's pretty good pay for committing a crime.
