Mohamed El-Erian (who is on CNBC and FOX Bus. Frequently and who I think is good) was PIMCO''s CEO and I just read an article in "Fortune" Magazine by him written November 23rd. "Top Economist Mohamed El-Erian says we're not just headed for another recession, but a "profound economic and financial shift." Wait until tomorrow to read it. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We were in a room full of my wife's 12 relatives (+ us = 14) and we had too much to eat. Good times!

Anyone following what's going on in Ukraine? It looks like Putin is getting slapped time after time and the USA has pledged $hundreds of millions more in military aid. I hate that we're involved in this, but the "mighty" NATO (over there) can't handle it alone. Remember....Ukraine is not a member of NATO, so NATO and our involvement is subject to considerable scrutiny. I think Europe and the USA are just flailing and I doubt very seriously if the Biden administration has looked beyond the hood of their electric vehicle and figured out a long term plan. I seriously and sadly doubt it. Let's go a step further into Fantasyland and postulate for a moment that Putin says "The hell with this....I'm cutting my losses and going home." Not likely, but just pretend. What would NATO and the other "white hat" guys say? Would it be....Meh! OK....cool....it's over. No harm, no foul. Let's all go home. Let's not pursue anything else with that bloodthirsty killer of women and children....rapist....torturer....devastator of an entire country....and pretend it never happened. Is that what's going to be the plan? Just let your mind open up and pretend for a moment that Biden has a plan. What would it be? NOTE: Remember Afghanistan?

In the 16 and 17 hundreds in London there was a Hotel/Pub in Marble Arch/Tyburn that had a Gallows next door. After a trial in which the Prisoners were found guilty they were loaded up on a wagon and transported to the Gallows. The guards would ask the prisoners if they would like a last drink. If the prisoner said yes he got "One for the road". If he said no, he was "on the wagon"!

Michael. I've wondered about that as well. That's about the price we pay here in Arkansas. What is the going price in Arizona these days? It was around $5.00/gal when I was there in April. But not to worry. Our oil reserves are about gone. Then watch the price sour again.

A couple of Observations:

1. Remember a little over two years ago when the Hunter Biden laptop bubbled to the surface and the Republicans thought they had a real shot at disclosing corruption in the Biden family pre-election day? The democrats had a stroke and scrambled to head that off so it would not affect Joe's basement campaign as the election was just ahead. So, the democrats got 51 (alleged) former intelligence agents to refute the "laptop dance" and said in a letter....now read this carefully....that "....the material from the laptop had all the earmarks of a Russian operation." That hi-lited word was buried in the ever-so-official looking letter and the left wing media took off with the letter to refute the whole laptop story even though the letter Did NOT Say it WAS Russian disinformation. To say that something had the earmarks of something is like saying that, because it has 4-legs, a dog has the earmarks of a horse.

Did the Republicans jump on this obvious usage of smoke and mirrors? NO!! That is why I have little hope that Republicans stand much of a chance in ANY fight with democrats. They are either ignorant or are definitely NOT as good in a street fight as democrats. Recapturing the House is NOT enough.

2. With all of the horrible mass shootings taking place recently, did you hear that Biden said: "The idea we still allow semi-automatic weapons to be purchased is sick." "It has no socially redeeming value. Zero. None. Not a single solitary rationale for it except for profit for gun manufacturers."

I'll let you make up your own mind about whether that argument holds water. Personally, I think Biden is an idiot, but he still has the Senate and the Oval and may be able to do some damage that the House won't be able to combat.

Michael K, I never doubted, scoffed, or demeaned and belittled you over your post about Squanto or Yakima Cannutt. Squanto was real, and so is the story. Yakima was real, and his influence on John Wayne's acting is real. These acting techniques are even seen in Michael Wayne's scenes in the movies he was in with his dad.
