John J. Krahulec, Jr, age 75, of Geneva, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, at Independence Village in Naperville, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 10, 1948, in Buffalo, New York, the son of John and Rita (Pilarski) Krahulec.
John enjoyed playing video games against his wife and making magic for his kids. A Vietnam Navy veteran, musician, and former member of Mensa, it was his 2nd place title on Jeopardy! that impressed people most. He loved rock music, garage sales, animals, electronics, sci-fi, and rocking the grill. John spent over 40 years in programming, retiring from AT&T in 2013. But, it's his love, generosity, and support to his family and community that will be remembered most.
John is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Krahulec of Aurora and Katherine (Daniel) Tyranski of St. Charles; brother, Robert (Judy) of Arizona; and many other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of 40 years, Anne who passed away in 2021.
Funeral prayers will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10:30 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva, proceeding to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva for Celebration of Funeral Mass at 11:30 am, with Father John McFadden celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, with a liturgical wake service at 6:45 pm.
