So sorry to hear of Karen' s death. as we shared the same surname we were often seated next to one another in class. Does anyone know what happened? I have thought of her and wondered whether we may have in some distant way related. She was a sweet person then and I would guess she remained as such.

I am so sorry to hear of Karen's passing.  I moved to Ca after graduation and so lost contact with many Camelback friends.  Karen and I would always walk to school together as Imlived close by.  there was a family across the street the Connelleys that had a donkey we would all ride...It was just tied up in an open yard...and I enjoyed spending time with Karen at the family cabin in the mountains..Such a loving family..and I always admired her mom's ability to make anything...sewing...crafting..and Karen was creative too!!!  Karen had a loving way about her and a wonderful sense of humor.  I have such fond memories of times spent together....I will always remember her.

Sadly, I also was just struck with a memorable afternoon with Karen..We were in PE together...putting on those LOVELY green uniforms..and Miss Dotson came out of her office into the locker room and told us all to sit down.  She had been crying and told us that President Kennedy's had been assassinated...She and Miss G brought out a small TVA and we all listened to the news....no class activity I can remember that day.  Karen and I walked home to her house and watched the news on the TV..all shell shocked and disbelieving.....a great change for all of us.
