Linda Jane Hamberlin Benton, 35, passed away from complications due to diabetes on Oct. 2, 1982, in Tacoma, Washington. She was survived by her husband Michael Gilbert Benton who passed away a month later. She was also survived by her 7 year old daughter, Melissa Jane Benton (Musgrave) and 3 year old son, James Michael Benton.

Linda and I went to Monte Vista elementary school together and later Camelback High. I didn't see much of her in high school, but I remember her as a fun and friendly girl. About ten years ago, my brother-in-law gathered up all my Dad's old 8mm movies and transferred them to video tapes for me and my brother and sister. My tape included my 3rd grade birthday party with Linda chasing me and some of the other kids around the patio with the toy dinosaurs my mom had given away as party favors. She looked so happy and mischievous. I will miss her smile.
