Jim, totally agree with you. My limited opinion is;
Since sometime after the election of Barack Obama, the political and cultural divide in this country hasn’t just grown—it’s exploded. We no longer debate. We no longer compromise. There’s no middle ground. Both political parties have played their role in this mess, but today, the left seems to have veered completely off the rails.
We’ve watched as they ignored the obvious—claiming the border was secure while thousands crossed it daily. They defended Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities for four years, even as the evidence to the contrary piled up. They spent trillions on pet projects, driving inflation through the roof, all while telling Americans the economy was “strong.” They demonized fossil fuels and pushed everyone toward electric vehicles with zero foresight about how we’d power them.
Perhaps most frightening, they refuse to deal with the criminals they’ve let in. They oppose virtually every measure to clean up our streets. I wonder—if one of their own daughters or granddaughters were brutally raped or murdered by one of these criminals—would they still oppose deportation? Would they still preach compassion over accountability?
There is no common sense left. Many on the left seem infected with a kind of derangement—Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). And frankly, it should be classified as a mental illness. So many people hate Trump, yet they can’t even explain why—only that they've been told to.
This feels disturbingly close to what Nikita Khrushchev warned us about. He said:
“We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism, until they suddenly awake to find they have communism.”
They’ve taken over our schools and started planting the seeds early. Just like in parts of the world where toddlers are taught to chant “Death to America,” our children here are being indoctrinated—only the slogans are masked as “equity,” “inclusion,” and “climate justice.”
It’s happening right in front of us. And the silence—or worse, the complicity—from so many is deafening.
