Those of you who have been following my posts over the years know that I have always been a staunch supporter of Donald Trump. I've donated to his campaign, put signs in my yard, and flown a Trump flag proudly, even at the displeasure of some neighbors. I've always rooted for him to make America STRONG again, make America SAFE again, and make America GREAT again. However, Trump's latest barrage of tariffs has me a little concerned. On last night's podcast, Mark Levin explained it as a positive move, but I can see it as a potentially dangerous move. I do hope this move works out well for our country, but our enemies, both within and outside our country, will fight him tooth and nail on anything he does.

DeWitt et. al.  I look upon the Tariffs proposed by President Trump quite like Remedial Relief for a Nation, which is USA, getting long needed Relief as Follows:  If the USA is like a Big, Friendly Dog, like a Golden Retirever, with big brown eyes, Friendly, always wagging its Tail in anticipation of a Pat on the head, and a scratch. and we have been friendly with all nations world wide, ever since WW II extending Economic aid, and medical aid to everyone who has asked, During WW II's aftermath, we extended the Marshall Plan to Germany, and other European countries, even Stalin got beneficial aid from us even though his conduct as a World Leader was abominable we extended to him help. Thus it has been for almost eighty years now, all the Countries asking for our help got it. Meanwhile our politicians sold us on the Idea nf giving to under developed Countries aid in the Form of converting our industrial base, into a foreigh subsidized base that we obtained goods from, instead of building them here. What Democrats love to say is Socialism for the Wealthy and Corporations, which they encourage as long as it is sent overseas, but they are loathe to see it here domestically. This systematic stripping of American ingenuity and industriousness to Aid others overseas, has been met with a 'well while were at it, were going to panalize you for trying to compete with us making Widgets, by taxing the hell out of your importation of your Widgets here" But they patted us on the head, called us a Good Dog, and we were satisfied. But this parasitical behavior can only last so long, for these Fat Ticks got so fat living off of our largesse, their legs became too short to support their bodies, but drain us of life they continued to do, But the Big Friendly Dog got so drained of Energy, it could hardly Wag its Tail, and it started taking longer and longer Naps, Longer Naps, less Tail Wagging. Then, just in time, a type of Veterinarian came along, Donald J. Trump. Now The Big Friendly Dog needed some Tick Medicine, in the form of Tariffs, not more Giveaway Programs for World Peace, it was not working anyway. So, now the Veterinarian is doing  his Job, which is what we Elected him for.

However, Mr. President, Ukraine is not one of the Ticks. And Russia has no Tarriffs, because they are on a Permantent Boycott World Wide, so there is nothing to do a Tariff upon.

Michael, Good synopsis except Ukraine was a 250 billion dollar tick until Trump pointed out the insanity of the EU "Loaning" the Ukrainians money while we were just "Giving" them the money.  Knowing that the Ukrainians couldn't monetarily pay us back, the Trump Team found a way that it could.  The people advising Trump on financial matters are pretty much all business people.  Biden had a bunch of academics with no practical business experience.  I'll take people who have paid a payroll and survived the pressures of running a business over people who have sat in classrooms and been taught by other people who have come out of classrooms rather than the real world.  It's reported that 50 Countries have reached out so far to try to find a balance we can live with.  On January 19th there were no countries trying to negotiate a deal with us because they already had the best deal.  America First!!

Frank W.  I believe you are batting about 600 on the Ukraine/Trump/Zelensky Dust up because for a Variety of Reasons, namely the First being Survival, ukraine has figured Trump will come around somewhat from where he was at a month ago, and he has. We have resumed sending them Ammo, Weapons, and Aid, and Musk turned back on the Low Flying Sattelite Intel System for them to Access. Also, pretty much everyone has figgered out that Putin cannot be Trusted. I listen to Ukraine's on YouTube and keep up with their Analysis, and there are some Americans who have their own Views that they express Daily. Turns out Putin may be Beating himself, and last week someone blew up one of his most heavily Armored Limousines right there in Moscow. Anna from Ukraine who has a Show in YT said that it is a Joke amongst Ukrainians to see which one of the Eight Putins will they say was blown up in the Limo, or would they say putin was not killed in the Limo Explosion. Whatever, Russia will be sure to use whatever Story will suit their Propaganda Mill the best, because they can always change the Story later.

I think the Tariff deal is great, it has the Democrats in quite an uproar, Something tells me that Democrats do a lot of investing in Foreign Corporations, who have benefitted for years based upon the Inequties in the Tariff System as it has existed. "Pluck the Chicken, but don't Kill It" The Chicken being the USA. It takes a cold blooded Fish to bet against your own Country.

Thank God the Supreme Court has quickly slapped around the Liberal Leftist Judges and the ACLU and decided Trump can throw out the illegal criminals!!

It should have been a no-brainer for the S.C. to say that a mere district judge cannot push around the President of the United States.

One thing I've learned lately is to never play poker with Trump.

A Federal District Court Judge should already know the limits of their own Positional Power relative th other members of the Bench in the Hierarchy of Limits of Authority they have in the Scope of their Order that they can legally Make. This Judge wasted a bunch of time to appease those who got him where he currently is. Now we all know "his Price." Nowadays it seems to be a Race for Political Approval rather than the Ability to Apply the Law. Sometimes you have to recognize that although you have a certain amount of Authority, you are not in the Place where you can make a Decision, right or wrong. He was not a  member of the  Legislative Branch.

I guess I have to take back the concern expressed in my post 15161. One thing I have learned from this is never try to outguess President Trump.

Hi Patty, Instead of Poker, I hope Trump isn't playing Russian Roulette?  Thank God Trump got his Supreme Court Justices in.  John Robert's has decided with the Liberals almost as much as he has with the Conservatives.  I wonder sometimes though that if his ruling would turn a Court decision Liberal, would he decide with the Conservatives?

Documents of WH contacts were disclosed today indiacating that Joe Biden conferred with the Communist Chinese Government about permitting them to overfly the entire USA via the Spy Balloon that was spotted making an overfligfht over the entire Country last year. Remember, Biden would not do anything to bring it down until it was out over the Atlantic Ocean, and then feigning surprise, he allowed out Military to fire a missile at it and bring it down. I am extremely incensed about this Deliberate allowing  of the Communist Government to openly Spy upon our National Defense Systems by a President we now Know was

1. Incompetent, and had no ability to perform the Duties of his Office, which was covered up by ever single Democrat in this Entire Country, or

2. He deliberately Betrayed this Country to "Play Nice" with the Communist Chinese Government.

You cannot have it any other way, yet theire are still people in this Country who think somehow this is Cute, or whatever other way you are wont to describe it, I call it being a Traitor. and for me, you forever  will remain in that Category.

Im all for prosecuting him, and his entire Family, and upon Conviction, confiscate all their properties, monies, and other forms of wealth, and banish them permanently to China. This runs right along with General Millie calling the Communist Chinese Geleral Staff, and disclosing to them our plans for Afghanistan, and then leaving 80 billion dollars of Military Equipment over there, and letting a Suicide Bomber kill 13 of our Troops during the Draw Down.

I dont  want to fully express rthe absolute Frustration anf Rage I feel about this being covered up, and the people who still cover it up. .

I received an email yesterday from John Thomas.  Some may remember him from school year 64/65 when he taught American History at CHS.  He was a young, funny character then and I liked him.

John married Diana Carey who was Matt Carey's older sister.  Matt passed away 7/17/24 (see my IN MEMORY post).  Diana passed away unexpectedly on 4/11/25.  They were married 66 years and it hit John very hard.  She died in his arms at home.

I had been in touch with John and Diana for a few years because Matt was a good friend of mine at CHS and I had lost touch.  Matt basically "dropped out" and never returned my calls.  John and Diana were helping him and they kept me up to date.  They will always be remembered by me as a sweet and caring couple who had great and fun adventures in their 66 years together.

I don't think putting you in touch with John and Diana is appropriate, but John and their daughter Tamara could use your prayers.  I told John that I believe Diana is in God's arms and that she will soon be looking for Matt to "kick his butt" if she hasn't already.

I don't know why I decided to post this information, but some of you have become good friends and I know you will send a short prayer to help John and Tamara through their grief.

Jim, they will also have my Prayers, to hopefully help them through their grief.......

I said a prayer for John and Diana.  My Wife and I are traveling internationally.  I have found while traveling over the years that the only American News Media available is CNN.  You all know how left wing CNN is I'm sure.  My point is that foreign countries just get a left wing view of Trump and The USA.

I haven't been reading or participating much lately.  But it's no accident that I read your post Jim, today. I've just prayed for John and Tamara.  So sorry for their loss - I understand their grief and the pain John is in!  Carolyn Lane Scott passed away Feb 3rd (Miss Lane to all CHS), and then my husband of nearly 57 years died unexpectedly on Feb 11th, 8 days later.  He truly was my other half and were it not for Christ, I would be undone!  Jesus gives me the peace that makes no sense in the midst of devastation and loss.                                 I am not sure if I'll be coming to the reunion, so if I don't get there, I'd like someone to announce Carolyn's passing - just so the word gets out.  She didn't want a service, so we had a private family burial of her ash's.

 Thank you all!

I knew neither John nor Diana, but I know the hurt inside when you lose someone you love. I have had two such losses in the last few months. Although time may ease some pain, it can never erase the memories. At a time like this, as we approach, or are in, our 78th year, I hope I can leave good and lasting memories for those I leave behind. My thoughts are with all those in this situation.

Nancy, my prayers are with you as well.

Nancy, I am so sorry for your loss.  My thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

p.s.  Kay Scholl is putting together a little Lafayette get together during the reunion, if you would like to attend, let her know.  I will add Miss Lane to our "Memory" book...  would love to see you.

Thanks for taking that on Patty!  I would just like to honor Carolyn.  She was nearly 102!    We once had her give us a verbal accounting of her life which we typed out and here is a meaningful quote, "  I have been recognized for some ground-breaking accomplishments in my life, but none have brought me a greater sense of pride than my years as a SpG Wave".                                                                                                                     She taught gunnery to men pilots using pistols, shotguns and both 30 and 45 caliber machine guns.  Quoting her agian, "The initial challenge of teaching men to become effective sky hunters became less traumatic after the first week of a new class when I (and all the women instructors), proved we could provide life-saving techniques.  Statistics were kept and it was documented that survival of our men increased dramatically".

Wow Nancy, what a GREAT story about Ms. Lane/Scott.  No wonder she was tough!!  My experience with combat pilots is that they are tough nuts to crack (I.E. "Top Gun") and very cocky.  Very sorry about your recent losses.  A downsize of living longer is that we watch more friends and family pass.  We're lucky to have Christ and God to carry our pain.  Keep praying!  I know it calms me!  By the way Nancy, how's Toby doing? Please Thank him again for serving Our Country!!

Nancy.  We are so sorry for the losses of Carolyn and Rich.  I know this has been a very difficult time for you.  No one can assuage the heartache you are feeling, but I will offer this thought that I borrowed:  "They both knocked on Heaven's door and I know it opened."  They are in God's hands and you will see them again and you will all be perfect.

I only knew OF you at CHS, but it was clear you were a good person.  And your long service with Hospice of The Valley....to quote Bill Rihs some time ago on this Forum....makes you an Angel on earth and that alone stands you in good with God.

Julie and I send our love and prayers to you, Janet, Toby and the rest of your family.  We hope to see you sometime.

With love and respect, Jim and Julie

Dear Nancy.  I'm so sorry to hear of your recent losses and you are for sure in my prayers.  It's been 5 1/2 years since Ed passed and my heart still breaks with the memory but somehow through the grace of God I have finally found joy in living again.  As an aside, I saw Charlotte and Steve last weekend.  I wish they had mentioned your losses and I would have reached out sooner.  God Bless you Nancy.
