I'm also wondering when Barron Trump will be deported. He was born on March 20, 2006 and his mother did not become a citizen until July 28, 2006. So he was born to an illegal and should not be a US citizen. Isn't that correct according to what Donald Trump is now saying?  He Can go back to Slovenia since he speaks the language so fluently.

My wife worked on a Mother Baby postpartum unit for twenty years. According to her, people took advantage of the birthright citizenship by coming to the US right before they delivered, had the baby, got a social security number for him or her, then left to go back to their own country. This happened all the time, the parents wanted duel citizenship so they could apply for benefits later on.  Then there were people who had an "anchor" baby and immediately applied for benefits because they "had nothing for the baby". They wanted everything from housing, food and clothing for the baby and themselves.  This was not an isolated incident, it happened over and over again. The hospital had to get emergency Medicaid for these patients or the Doctors and hospital wouldnt' get paid. The hospital was doing renovations and had to skip the unit because they were losing money. One woman told my wife, "This is a wonderful country, everything is free".  Not if you're a citizen it isn't.  Also, the birthright law will not be retroactive, but in the future, let's spend our tax dollars on  American citizens in need. We cannot take care of the entire world.

t Rump's suggestions on changing birthright citizenship are vague. He does not clarify if one or both parents need to be US citizens.  Additional information is that Ivana Trump did not become a US citizen until 1988.  Donald's own DEI-- Donald Jr,, Eric, Ivanka were all born prior to 1988. Jr in 1977, Ivanka in 1981 And Eric in 1984.   
 

Tiffany is his only unquestioned American citizen child. I understand he wanted Marla to have an abortion, but she refused and also refused to have a bastard child, so Donald had to marry her.  That marriage didn't last long.  She is the only AMERICAN willing to marry him. He had to resort to foreigners for his other wives.

if Donald does not intend to be retroactive on this subject, then why does he plan to send ICE Agents into schools?  The children there are already born.  
 

Since I hear nothing from any of the Trump supporters disapproving the release of 1500+ terrorists being pardoned and let out of prison, I can only assume that you guys approve of this.  Just like Hitler's brown shirts, Trump will now have his own private army to terrorize citizens.  ENJOY!

Hello fellow classmates. David Brooks (the conservative) wrote a great editorial in NYT today. Suggest all read it. Title is How Trump Will Loose.  But it's not anti trump. It compares the times of William McKinley when people were left out of the Industrial Revolution triggering populist politics to now when people are left out of the Information Age revolution triggering populist politics. He berates democrats for not addressing the structural problems Trump has identified rather being distracted by social justice issues. He says trump will loose not because he is fundamentally wrong about the problems but because his answer is to tear institutions apart and focus on loyalty to himself. After McKinley what worked was refocusing strong competent institutions on the structural problems. Check it out

On another note classmates:  we live in a very complex world made of very complex systems. The Human body is a miracle of complexity. Nature for example weather is very complex. Individual personalities including belief systems are complex. Social structures and their political systems are complex.  Complex systrms are inherently stable that is difficult to change. Only simple systems, like a thermostat in your house, respond to simple changes. Anyone who thinks they know THE answer to social or political or any complex system problem is wrong. Systems evolve slowly in response to complex forces.

Masses of people have moved around the planet since there were humans. We have a serious problem on southern border and it works both ways. (The drug cartels could be wiped out if they were not getting almost all their guns from US). Building a wall is a simple solution to a complex problem, which never works. Better to assume an attitude of humble curiosity, master the problem in all its complexity, then put in place a basket of interventions that will take years and will need to be modified as progress is monitored. The problem is real  Are we going to understand and solve it (which democrats did not do being choked on social justice). Or are we going to exploit the problem for personal power and one groups domination over another as Trump appears to be doing. This little discussion group is of course a microcosm of the bigger question.

Your post, 14893, directed personally to me, set me back to where I couldn't respond for a couple of days. It seems to me that it's the same old meme, "Rules for me but not for thee." We, as classmates, have been criticizing each other since I have been a part of this forum. Not just politicians. Perhaps I should have prefaced my post with, "This is my opinion," as per the rule at the top of the page, but it seems a bit redundant when most of what we post is our opinion. You sure didn't have a problem criticizing my post. Did I slander Katie? (And I do apologize for not spelling her name correctly.).

Did I say anything false? Or did I damage her reputation in any way? I think she is proud of her reputation as a far-left supporter of the Marxist regime. As far as any violation of this site's intent, I will let our leader, Patty, be the arbitrator. If she says I'm wrong, then I will apologize for that infringement.

To be redundant, I am NOT a perfect person.  As I stated, I am trying to be a better person.

I did make the "scum" comment about Biden immediately after he pre-pardoned his family 15 or so minutes before being out of office forever while President Elect Trump was unavailable for comment.  That was a truly reprehensible thing to do.  This, of course, follows his pardon of his son (retro to 10 years, mind you) after continuously stating he would not.  Those things stacked on top of his horrible record got to me.....I admit it.  But I'm done with Biden unless he does something else to piss me off.  Unlikely because he is irrelevant.

It is with great relief that due to a lack of response, I find the left on this site consists of perfect people.

As I have stated several times before, I am glad to have Trump on that wall!  I, for one, will sleep better.

Thank you Bill for the reminder that complex issues require complex solutions.  It reminds me a bit of quality management system strategies for companies and organizations seeking certification or even plain good business or governance.  When faced with an issue, the first steps are to conduct a thorough investigation of what happened and determine the deep root causes.  Containment and short term corrective actions are implemented.  Long term corrective actions are determined, put into place, and monitored for effectiveness.  There can be multiple corrective actions.  One example I've seen is a three-legged stool.  Unless all actions are implemented the stool will be rickety or collapse.  We've been dealing with the complex issue of immigration over many administrations and Congresses, mostly only with short term limited corrective actions, if any.   My hope, probably overly optimistic, is that some day we will actually have a comprehensive program of long-term solutions.
