John Howard Hughes, 23, a SGT in the US Army, 25th Infantry Division, died on June 9, 1969. John’s death was due to hostile ground action in Tay Ninh Province, South Vietnam. His name is in row 1 of panel 22W of the Vietnam Memorial. He had been in Vietnam since August 16, 1968 with length of service of 1 year. John was living in Phoenix, AZ, before enlisting in the Army.
